INCIPIT
The 42nd reenactment of the 1000 Miglia also
reintroduces the fascination of a unique competition
through the extraordinary scenery of Italy’s most
beautiful side.
The first car leaves on Tuesday 11 at 12pm from Viale
Venezia, passing through Bergamo, Novara and Vercelli
before arriving in Turin for the first stage finish.
On the second day, the convoy will begin its descent
south down the Langhe hills and through the center of
Acqui Terme before heading to Genoa (new stage this
year), where crews will stop for lunch. Continuing along
the Tyrrhenian coast, the race will reach the finish line
in Viareggio.
The third stage will be a draw near the Capital. After
going through the inland to pay homage to Lucca, the
race will return to the coast in Livorno until the lunch
break in Castiglione della Pescaia. In the afternoon, the
transit from Grosseto, the entry into the region of Lazio,
Lake Bolsena and the ending in Rome for the Via Veneto
parade.
With the fourth stage, crews will climb up to Orvieto and
then Solomeo, place for lunch. After the break it will be
the turn of Siena and Prato and the Futa and Raticosa
passes, which will precede the arrival in Bologna. On the
final day of Saturday 15, the route will include Ferrara and
Mantua, then the southern Lake Garda with Valtenesi
and Salò and it will end with the classic afternoon parade
in Viale Venezia.
