The experts at Financial Advice & Services (FAS) explain how their highly qualified team of independent advisors can help clients piece their financial puzzle pieces together istockphoto.com/FotoMaximum What does FAS do and how long has it been established? We are a long-standing independent firm of Chartered Financial Planners, renowned for our ethical, friendly, professional, and proactive approach to holistic financial planning. With offices in Folkestone and Maidstone, for the past 33 years, we have advised wealthy individuals and businesses across Kent and the South East. What does it mean to be independent? We are very proud of our independence, which is twofold. Firstly, we are independently owned, which makes us free from any corporate ownership, network or investment company/platform influences. Secondly, we are independent financial advisers (as opposed to restricted advisers) which means we have the freedom to recommend financial products spanning the whole of the market. We are not restricted to only recommending products from certain providers or a single company which means there are no limits to the breadth of services we can offer clients. This makes FAS completely unbiased and unrestricted. Can you tell us about your Chartered Status? FAS has been awarded Chartered status in recognition of our commitment to professional excellence and integrity. Industry gold standards are not awarded lightly; the Chartered Insurance Institute sets this benchmark at the highest level based on advanced qualifications, an overall commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to an industry standard Code of Ethics. Our corporate title is not simply recognition for passing examinations or paying an annual fee; it is a public declaration of our commitment to excellence and quality in everything we do. Can you tell us a bit about your team? Our diverse team consists of experienced, highly qualified and skilled Chartered Financial Planners, Paraplanners and Administrators who, over the years, have been handpicked for their dedication, team spirit and client-centric focus. We all work closely together for the good of our clients. We prioritise client relationships, ensuring our focus is to always provide quality advice and exceptional service. All staff are integral to the running of the business and there is a mutual respect amongst colleagues for the role everyone plays. What range of tailored financial planning services can you offer to clients? FAS offers a comprehensive range of services including Wealth Management, Retirement and Tax Planning Services. We can also assist clients with Divorce, Trusts, Long Term Care and Business Planning. Our Wealth Management Services are all managed internally and are backed by our own recognised Advisory and Discretionary Investment Service propositions, overseen by the FAS Investment Committee that has been established for over decade. Our robust ongoing client review service ensures the continued suitability of our advice, investment proposition and platform provider at client level. We regularly meet with clients and assess these areas, in line with individual circumstances, making changes where necessary. What lies ahead for FAS? It sounds a bit of a cliché but we thoroughly enjoy what we do and feel we really make a difference to people’s lives. We have wonderful clients, and we get to meet some very interesting people. Over the past 3 decades, we have forged many long-standing relationships, so we have become involved in a lot of inter-generational planning, looking after children, grandchildren and so on. Furthermore, our industry is continually evolving, and we have learned to evolve with it. As our business continues to grow, we will continue to recruit like-minded individuals, invest in technology, adapt and streamline our processes to ensure we remain efficient and focused on what we do best!
