It’s quiz time! Take a guess at
how many seats there are at the
White Rock in Hastings?
1066, naturally (making it one of
the largest venues in East Sussex).
Situated on the shoreline with
unbeatable views of Hastings Pier,
the venue is your perfect local
entertainment destination for
music, comedy and the annual
pantomime. With a rich and varied
programme, see what’s on and
discover top-named comedians
alongside world-class live music,
right on your doorstep. We’ve noted
Jules Holland and his Rhythm
and Blues Orchestra on 15 June
and Rhod Gilbert & the Giant
Grapefruit on 7 July, just for starters.
Celebrating the release of their glorious 2019 vintage, The Shakespearean
Cuvée, High Clandon Vineyard will be hosting Art & Sculptures in the
Vineyard from 30 June until 14 July. There will be over 180 works of art
on show in the spectacular setting high in the Surrey Hills. This event also supports
Cherry Trees children’s respite charity. The owners, Bruce and Sibylla Tindale,
ask for £7 per person donation for Cherry Trees and a percentage of art sales
will also be donated. Experience the many works of art by notable artists
whilst strolling through the wildflower meadows, vineyard, Rose Arch
Walk and tranquil Japanese Garden. High Clandon will take part in
the National Gardens Scheme on 7 July when you can treat yourself to
a delicious Cuvée and Cream Tea supplied by Cherry Trees charity. You
will find all the details you need on their website at highclandon.co.uk
DANCE
AND SONG
Stour Music Festival of Early Music
returns from 21 until 30 June to All
Saints’ Boughton Aluph in the heart
of the Kent countryside. Fireworks,
flamenco, a Handel opera and great
choral music will be brought to the
(normally) quiet country church on
the Pilgrims’ Way between Ashford
and Canterbury. You’ll find some of
Spain’s most flamboyant dancers, plus
soprano Anna Dennis singing Handel
opera arias in an orchestral concert
also featuring Handel’s Fireworks –
followed by the real thing outside.
