Albert H. Yurvati, DO, PhD, DFACOS,<br />
FACOS, FICS, FAHA, serves as an<br />
emeritus professor at the University<br />
of North Texas Health Science Center<br />
Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Originally<br />
from Allentown, Pennsylvania, he met his soul mate,<br />
Sharon, while serving in the US Army. Following<br />
medical school, he excelled as a cardiothoracic<br />
surgeon both nationally and internationally.<br />
However, when Sharon experienced an<br />
acute thrombotic stroke, he shifted<br />
gears to become her caregiver.<br />
In 2020, at the pinnacle of his<br />
career, he received a diagnosis<br />
of multiple myeloma, a bone<br />
marrow cancer, prompting<br />
yet another transition, this<br />
time to a patient himself.<br />
