BERT H. YURVATI Albert H. Yurvati, DO, PhD, DFACOS, FACOS, FICS, FAHA, serves as an emeritus professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Originally from Allentown, Pennsylvania, he met his soul mate, Sharon, while serving in the US Army. Following medical school, he excelled as a cardiothoracic surgeon both nationally and internationally. However, when Sharon experienced an acute thrombotic stroke, he shifted gears to become her caregiver. In 2020, at the pinnacle of his career, he received a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer, prompting yet another transition, this time to a patient himself. Meet Dr. Yurvati in his books, Wet My Hands and This to Me. 43 | READING GLASS BOOKS
