About <strong>th</strong>e Theme<br />
We are passing <strong>th</strong>rough a situation <strong>of</strong> unprecedented global<br />
turmoil and slowdown. Failure <strong>of</strong> some top financial institutions<br />
has created doubts regarding accounting and financial<br />
innovations. Need for refocusing on basic principles has arisen.<br />
At <strong>th</strong>e same time, one must not forget abundant opportunities in<br />
newer areas <strong>th</strong>at need to be captured.<br />
It is high time <strong>th</strong>at we as students <strong>of</strong> Chartered Accountants not<br />
only prove our abilities to deal wi<strong>th</strong> present situation but also<br />
equip ourselves suitably to take care <strong>of</strong> new challenges and turn<br />
<strong>th</strong>em in <strong>th</strong>e opportunities. This calls for sharpening our axe by<br />
streng<strong>th</strong>ening our fundamental.<br />
We are in <strong>th</strong>e times where we have to simultaneously keep an<br />
eye over bo<strong>th</strong> - fundamentals and new competencies to cope<br />
wi<strong>th</strong> <strong>th</strong>e situation. In <strong>th</strong>is context, no <strong>th</strong>eme can suit 9<strong>th</strong> <strong>National</strong><br />
<strong>Convention</strong> for <strong>CA</strong> <strong>Students</strong> but <strong>th</strong>e one <strong>th</strong>at aims at<br />
