A question for Harriet Beecher Stowe
› “So you’re the little woman who wrote the book that made this great war!”
That was Abraham Lincoln’s reported greeting to Harriet Beecher Stowe when
he met her, ten years after her book Uncle Tom’s Cabin was published.
Did Harriet – Mark Twain’s friend and neighbor – ghost-write some of his
masterpiece The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn? Ask her yourself, during the
next in a “Great American Heroes” lecture series at Grace Church on Wed May
22 at 7pm. Or, if you can’t make it then, on Sat May 25 at 2pm.
Portrayed by Susan Dewey, an accomplished local actor, Harriet will be
interviewed by Mark Twain, portrayed by Richard Bonnette.
Seating is limited to the first thousand inquisitive souls. Proceeds will benefit
the Brad Wilby Foundation. Donate on-line at bradwilby.org or claim a seat for
$15 in person.
