The expedition took place on
5th April 2024, and it was both a
physical triumph and an affirmation
of the profound impact friends can
have in times of adversity. As they
trekked their way up Ben Nevis,
Davy and his friends displayed their
unwavering commitment to making
a difference in the fight against
MND.
Motivated by a shared desire to
shine a light on Motor Neurone
Disease, the group established
a GoFundMe page dedicated to
raising funds for Davy and his
family so they can concentrate on
his health, & making memories
rather than worry about the cost
of living. The response has been
incredibly heartwarming, with
the community rallying together
and contributing to a total of
£19,000, showing the true power of
compassion and support.
Throughout the challenging ascent
of Ben Nevis, the climbers drew
strength from one another and
the overwhelming support of their
community. Despite the physical
obstacles that lay before them,
their spirits remained unyielding,
fuelled by their dedication to raising
awareness for MND and helping
Davy and his family during this
difficult time.
Justin Middleton, the driving
force behind this initiative,
expressed his profound gratitude
for the support received from
his friends, as well as the wider
community. “This climb was
about far more than just reaching
the summit,” Justin shared. “It
was a testament to the power of
friendship and the determination to
make a difference. We are deeply
touched by the support we have
received so far and hope that our
efforts can provide meaningful
assistance to Davy’s family as they
navigate this journey with Motor
Neurone Disease.”

Ahead of its instantly identifiable
green pallets hitting the supply
chain, The Pallet LOOP is
encouraging all pallet recipients
to sign up for its collections
service by emailing: setmeup@
thepalletloop.com.
Signing up for pallet collections is
simple and will enable registered
companies to access a PayBack
of up to £4 for every green pallet
they put back in the LOOP. In
parallel, The Pallet LOOP will be
continuing its collection of white
pallets, which is significantly
cheaper than disposing of pallets
via a wood skip. The Pallet
LOOP’s white pallet collection
service is already up and running
nationwide with many large
housebuilders and principal
contractors already using the
scheme.

Director at The Pallet LOOP,

a major change in the way that

to merchants and building sites

process. Once companies are set
up, arranging collections of both
green and white pallets is easy,
with two service levels available:
a standard ten-day or a rapid 72-
hour pick up service. Users of
The Pallet LOOP will also receive
access to a special reporting
platform, where they can view and
download information about the
number of pallets returned and the
money saved on collections versus
disposal via a skip. The system
also provides information about the
amount of carbon saved and trees
repurposed, which can be used in
sustainability reporting.
