at The Care Awards East<br />
Midlands held at the East<br />
Midlands Care Conference and<br />
hosted by Health Innovation<br />
East Midlands on Wednesday,<br />
6th March.<br />
The Care Awards East Midlands<br />
recognize individuals who have made<br />
a difference in the lives of their home<br />
care residents, service users, families<br />
of those receiving care, and care staff.<br />
Two caring superstars were awarded<br />
for their work at Home Instead West<br />
Leicestershire and Market Bosworth.<br />
Shilpa Jobanputra won the award<br />
for ‘Home Care Carer of the Year’<br />
after demonstrating her dedication<br />
and commitment to providing care<br />
to her clients. She is now taking the<br />
next steps in career development,<br />
progressing into her next role,<br />
Community Liaison.<br />
Shilpa builds an irreplaceable bond<br />
with her clients. One story that<br />
particularly stood out is when she<br />
supported one of her clients with her<br />
nutrition. Shilpa realized that the lady<br />
wasn’t eating and had little interest in<br />
food, so she started to get her involved<br />
in cutting her sandwiches into star<br />
shapes and making her food look fun<br />
and appealing. This meant the lady felt<br />
more independent while improving her<br />
nutrition. Shilpa also assists the running<br />
of Home Instead West Leicestershire’s<br />
community lunch clubs, bringing<br />
together clients as well as anyone else<br />
in the community who wishes to make<br />
friends.<br />
Bethany Hart, Deputy Care Manager<br />
at Home Instead West Leicestershire,<br />
and Market Bosworth received the<br />
‘Highly Commended’ award. Judges<br />
were bowled over by her outstanding<br />
mentorship. Beth is seen by many<br />
of her colleagues as a supportive and<br />
inspiring peer. From being deeply compassionate and understanding of<br />
her colleagues’ anxieties and emotions to inspiring her team to strive for<br />
perfection and mentor them into leaders themselves.<br />
Led by Nisha Chandarana, who is also the owner of Home Instead<br />
West Leicestershire and Market Bosworth, Nisha was thrilled to have two<br />
members of her staff achieve such accolades, commenting: “To have not<br />
one, but two members of my team win an award in The Care Awards East<br />
Midlands is a huge achievement, one that I’m extremely proud of.” Nisha<br />
continued: “Both Beth and Shilpa deserved to win their awards as they<br />
continue to thrive here at Home Instead West Leicestershire.<br />
“They are great team players and care deeply about continuously striving<br />
to ensure we deliver the best possible service to our clients.”<br />
