Francisco "Pipo" Liboro's journey to dancing with the Penthouse 7
Modern Group was anything but conventional. His passion for dance
traces back to his childhood when, at the age of 11, he represented
the Philippines in cultural exchanges in Canada. There, he took his
first steps onto the dance floor, showcasing his country's cultural
dances to an international audience.
Amidst the disco fever of mid-70s Spain, Pipo found himself
immersed in the vibrant nightlife, honing his dance skills. Upon
returning to Manila, fate led Pipo to Penthouse 7, where a temporary
need for a male dancer arose. Seizing the opportunity, Pipo
embraced the challenge, dedicating himself to improving his craft
week after week until becoming a regular fixture on the show until
its conclusion in 1981.
Today, he resides in the San
Francisco Bay Area with his wife,
Beth de Mesa, where his passion
for rhythm remains undiminished.
Though he choreographs snippets
of songs from his playlists, his
performances are reserved
exclusively for Beth, a testament to
their enduring love and shared joy
in dance.
