The Central Valley Corvette Club was
chartered in 1991 for the owners of the only
real AMERICAN sports car, the awesome
CORVETTE. It's a social organization with
activities that provide enjoyment for the true
Corvette lover.

OUR MEMBERS.
Club activities include monthly meetings,
car shows, weekend Club activities,
overnighters, picnics, road rallies, summer
cruises, holiday get-to-gathers and more!
Eligibility for membership in CVC is defined
in Article III, section 1 of the bylaws in part
as follows: "Membership in Central Valley
Corvettes shall be open to all Corvette
owners who are sponsored by a member in
good standing. Additionally, a prospective
member must, within a three-month period,
attend two consecutive meetings, participate
in two club sanctioned
social activities, pay current membership
dues and initiation fees, and be approved by
two-thirds vote of membership present at a
general membership meeting by secret ballot.
Sponsors shall be responsible for advising
prospective member of results. All members
must submit proof of personal insurance in
accordance with California State Law upon
application for membership, and all members
must be a member of the association
providing club liability insurance for
CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES.
A prospective member who does not have a
sponsor will be provided one by the
membership committee. Non-members may
not participate in more than three meetings or
two sanctioned activities as per CVC Bylaws.
CVC membership dues are $60 plus an
initiation fee of $35. Membership entitles two
adult members at the same address voting
privileges at meetings (provided they are in
good standing) and membership rights.

President’s message
Central Valley Corvettes is growing by leaps and bounds (as they say). I wonder
where that saying comes from.
At our April meeting we voted in our newest members, John and CeCe Karlie.
Welcome to the “family” you two! Chris and Dee Salazar received their
membership packet and badges, and they’ve already planned a run for us in June.
Now that’s the club spirit we’re looking for.
If you would like to plan a run, don’t hesitate to ask for help with the process. We
have printed guidelines on how to put on a run, and experienced members who
would be glad to advise you.
Be sure to always read our newsletter to keep informed on what’s happening with
your club. You don’t want to miss out on any of the fun. I’m sure there’s
something coming up that you would like to participate in. Check out the
activities page.
Just another reminder, don’t arrive at our monthly meetings until 5 P.M. You
should have enough time to socialize and order dinner before the meeting starts.
The next meeting is May 20, 2024, starting at 6:30 P.M.

MAY MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Chris & Dee Salazar were initiated as our newest members. We also
voted to accept John & Cece Karlie as new members.They will be
initiated as new members at the May meeting. Several events are
coming up so be sure to check the Activities page. You certainly don’t
want to miss out!
We had 51 members and 12 guests at the April general meeting.

Sunshine and Clouds
Tom and Emily Piercy have had some medical conditions that have happy
results Tom had some swallowing issues that Emily says can be fixed by
medication and eating exactly what she says to eat. Emily likewise has some
issues that are being fixed by a treatment program. Prayers for their continued
improvement. Connie Olson has taken a fall and unfortunately broke her leg.
She is now recovering and prayers for healing. Debbie Garrison took a horrible
fall on an escalator in Laughlin while visiting family she spent some time in the
ER. Fortunately, no broken bones but lots of bruising prayers for continued
recovery. Mike Henenfent has developed aspiration pneumonia caused by his
swallowing problems from radiation for throat cancer he has had two weeks of
coughing and lots of medication but now he's better. We pray for a complete
recovery.

CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES GENERAL MEETING -MINUTES OF APRIL 15, 2024
President Lynne Henenfent called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Secretary Jody Webb –Lynne asked the members to approve the minutes of March 18, 2024, meeting, as
printed in the Newsletter. A motion was made to accept the minutes by LeighAnne Severance and was
seconded by Aracelli DeCamp.
VP of Public Relations/Membership – Pam Linsner reported that we have 51 members and 12 guests in
attendance- Wade Hedrick, Don Fairchild, Rick & Debby Clymore, Kelly & Louis Avila, Chris Arend, Darlene
Trower, Joe Bratton and Dana Beasley. John and Cece Karlie will be voted on for membership tonight as they
have completed the requirements for membership. Chris & Dee Salazar were given their membership packet
and badges, and their picture was taken with her sponsors Jimmy and Jody Webb for the Newsletter. Pam
reminded members to wear their name badges. We also need copies of insurance cards that have been
renewed since membership dues in September forwarded to us and we answered membership questions
regarding this. Anniversaries were announced. Congratulations went out to our Anniversary winners Josh &
Marina Bowling. The birthday drawing’s winner is Harlan Elrich. The club now has 101 members.
Treasurer’s Report-Darlene Derringer read the Club’s Treasury Report with an accounting of the deposits
made and checks written for expenses and our current balance. A copy is attached. Freida Null sold raffle
tickets for the meeting and collected $515.00.
VP of Activities-Gary Linsner - reported on past runs. Upcoming events include the Gambler’s Classic, Clovis
Rodeo Parade, EAA Movie Night, Independence run to Canada, Run to Bowling Green, Pacifica run, President’s
Mystery Run, and Annual Club Picnic. More to come regarding these prospective runs. See our activities page
for further information.
Parliamentarian-Jeff Engelman–
Newsletter Update – Newsletters articles, flyers and pictures need to be sent to Charlie Fosnaugh ASAP this
month so we can get the newsletter out.
Old Business – It was clarified that guests of Members are allowed to attend events and meetings. People
owning corvettes seeking club membership can only attend 3 meetings without attending events and applying
for membership.
New Business-Activities are needed for fall. Hand and Foot at Club One will be the first Wednesday of each
month.
Sunshine News – Marylou Lebda reported on the Sunshine and Clouds of the Members, a full report will be in
the newsletter.
Next General Meeting – Club One, Granite Park, Monday, May 20, 2024, at 6:30 PM
Next Board Meeting – The next board meeting will be 10:30 AM, Friday April 26, 2024, at the home of Pam
and Gary Linsner. Please let President Lynne Henenfent know if you plan on attending.
Meeting Adjourned – Lynne called for the meeting to be adjourned, Charlie Fosnaugh made the motion, and
the motion was seconded by Fred Parks. The meeting was adjourned at 7:44 P.M.

They charge $15 per shirt to do the logo and name.

With the club hovering around 100 members our events fill up and fast and some
events have to be limited. The run to Pacifica is limited to 10 cars so if it is not full
when you read this, act FAST. We have 37 cars signed up for the Clovis Rodeo
Parade (it will be over by the time the newsletter reaches you) so we will definitely
be well represented. FYI, we were awarded first place last year.
If you have a fun idea, reach out and we will see if it can happen.

We will meet at McDonald’s in Kingsburg and leave around 8AM.
There will be a rest stop and a lunch stop plus a 2 hour tour reserved at
The Nethercut Collecon for 1:30 PM on day one.
Day two we will visit the Reagan Library plus a lunch stop and a rest stop
on the way home.
No trip fee required. Total cost for the two acvies is approximately.
$39 per person.
All expenses will be self-paid at the locaons.

Champ Camp VIP Day at Wonder Valley
Wednesday June 12
Last year we made a donation to Champ Camp at Wonder Valley in Sanger. Champ Camp is a week
long summer camp for burn survivors ages 5 – 17. Each year approximately 150 children attend this
camp. Campers enjoy fun camp activities and just being kids free from medical procedures.
Central Valley Corvettes has been invited to Champ Camp VIP day during camp week. It will be
Wednesday, June 12th from 11am to 2 pm. A no cost lunch is included. Space is limited to 10 cars.
Sign-ups began at the April meeting. There is still room for 5 more cars. Let me know if you would like
to sign up. We will leave from McCall Avenue and Hwy 180 at 10:15 am on June 12 and travel to
Wonder Valley. Online registration for all attendees is required. I will e-mail attendees with further
information and discuss the event at our May general meeting. There is no trip fee.
