In the remote hills of the Charlevoix region, where the Sauguenay meets the St.
Lawrence River, lies one of Canada's best but least known golf courses. Thomas
McBroom, one of Canada’s most highly regarded architects, designed the course
for the late Canadian energy billionaire Paul Desmarais. The private golf retreat
is fashioned on Desmarais' hilly, enormous and remote private estate northeast
of Quebec City. Invited guests have predominantly been flown in on helicopters
owned by Desmarais' company, Power Corp.
Royal Palace Golf Club - Agadir, Morocco
Within the heavily guarded walls of the Prince of Morocco's palace is a very private
golf course. Making its first appearance in 1987, the Golf du Palais Royal d’Agadir
course is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design. Unless you're an invited guest of the
Prince to the very private 18-hole course, you'll have to qualify for the European
Tour's Trophée Hassan II event (or its pro-am) in order to tee off here. While many
months may pass between rounds, the course is always kept in perfect condition
just in case the Prince wishes to play.
