MAY/JUNE 2024 EDITOR'S NOTE
EDITOR'S NOTE
How speedily the year is going by. Already
mid-way through and I’m certain most of us
are reflecting and pondering if the first half
of the year saw us achieve the goals’ we had
set for ourselves. Did we get the job? Did we
succeed in closing those deals? Did we get
promoted? But, could we perhaps change
the narrative and switch up the goalpost?
Did we go on that trip? When was my last
health check? Have I spent enough time
with family and friends?
Speaking of family, with Mother’s Day and
Father’s Day celebrated in the months of
May and June, we paid tribute to familial
values and the impact parents can have
in our lives. Our Cover Story is not of one,
not of two but of Dato’ Wong Keong Fook
and Datin Kok Yoke Sim of Unique Seafood
and their kids. We explore their rich history
in transforming the world of local Chinese
seafood dining in Kuala Lumpur and if they
will hand over the reins to their kids.
We have curated some sections that focus
on family. Do read Lifehacks and Sojourn
for popular family holiday destinations
and tips for when traveling with kids. To
celebrate these special occasions, do treat
your mum and dad with the beautiful
jewellery and timepieces featured in Jewels
and Chronometer and take them out for a
wonderful seafood meal at Atlantic Seafood
Restaurant in Tropicana Golf & Country
Resort which can be read about in Savour+.
Not forgetting those who wish to begin
their journey as parents, do read up about
TMC Fertility and their various services
available at Thomson Hospital in our Health
and Wellness section. Catch up on property
news and read up about Avisa Residences
in Tropicana Alam under Space as it is a
development perfect for young families
wishing to expand and grow.
With World Environment Day in June,
our Nature page features recycling hubs
located all across the Klang Valley. From
e-waste to regular recyclables, these
recycling centres are certainly building
traction and are the way forward.
With plenty more to read, it is always my
pleasure curating the pages of Tropicana
Magazine with a great variety of fun and
up-to-date topics in hopes of inspiring and
bringing a wealth of information to all.
Have a wonderful read!
peace of mind. Avisa Residences, nestled in serenity, emerges
as a beacon of modern living, offering 2-storey terrace homes
designed to cater to the dynamic lifestyles of today's families.
A gated and guarded community, the residential area consists
At the threshold of Avisa Residences lies a majestic 100-foot
ample natural daylight to penetrate internal spaces while
shielding out solar heat gain. Type A Intermediate units are
windows, maximizing natural light penetration, while Type B
Intermediate units feature a light shaft designed to illuminate
of sensitive design, showcasing how thoughtful planning can
elevate a typical housing project into a vibrant, sustainable
community. With 13.23% of green landscaped areas, a network
of pedestrian-friendly walkways, and comprehensive public
facilities, Avisa Residences in Tropicana Alam, Puncak Alam,
will set a new standard for livability, embodying a harmonious
blend of functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Type A residences feature a larger family area on the first
additional bedroom for added flexibility. Conversely, Type B
homes offer a fully extended kitchen space that stretches to
the rear boundary, enhancing functionality and convenience.
Distinctive facade colour schemes are introduced for each
In the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur, where the aroma of fresh seafood
years of culinary mastery, Unique Seafood Group stands as a testament
to the vision and perseverance of its founders, Datuk Wong Keong Fook
The journey of Unique Seafood Group began with humble origins.
Datuk Wong and Datin Kok, hailing from Ipoh, embarked on their
entrepreneurial venture armed with little more than a shared dream
and a determination to succeed. Arriving in Kuala Lumpur with their
newborn baby, they initially entered the seafood industry as suppliers to
hotels and restaurants. However, their ambition soon led them down a
path of innovation and distinction.
Indeed, what sets Unique Seafood apart is not only the quality of its
offerings but also its commitment to innovation. As Datuk Wong
explains, "We realized early on that there was a gap in the market and
that to succeed in the competitive restaurant industry, we needed to
differentiate ourselves. That's why we made the bold decision to import
exotic seafood, such as sturgeon from China and Alaskan crab, becoming
Kardashian-Jenner
matriarch and manager
with making the once
notorious family,
America’s true royalty
The Kardashian-Jenner family, more known as “The Kardashians”, don’t need an introduction.
The family, best known for their longest running reality television show - Keeping Up with the
Kardashians, which ran for 14 years between 2007 and 2021, now boast two members of the
Billionaire club with the rest achieving success in their own realms of business. That said, it is no
secret as to the driving force behind the Kardashian-Jenner empire and that is the self-coined
“Momager” herself - Kris Jenner.
Kris has been a lifelong resident of Southern California, calling Los Angeles home since 1976.
She married attorney Robert Kardashian in 1978 only to divorce in 1991 where Kris wed former
Olympian Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) the same year. Robert Kardashian died in 2003
after battling cancer. Already a prominent figure in the Los Angeles social scene, Kris carved her
path as a self-made woman. The start to her career saw humble beginnings but armed with her
expertise in networking and knack for nurturing relationships, coupled with business acumen
honed since her teenage years, Kris seemed destined to be a crowned head from the outset.

74
Kris orchestrates the careers of her six children - Kourtney, Kim,
Khloé, and Rob Kardashian; alongside Kendall and Kylie Jenner—and
oversees their diverse array of businesses, totalling a dozen. Among
these ventures, standouts include the highly successful Skims, Kim's
shapewear line, valued at US$4 billion with US$750 million in sales in
2023, and Kylie Cosmetics, a makeup brand that saw Kylie sell a 51%
stake for US$600 million at the age of 23 back in 2020. In addition to
managing her children's endeavours, Kris operates her own production
company and serves as the executive producer of the family's hit series,
“The Kardashians”, now in its fourth season on Hulu, following the highly
Prior to delving into the management of her children's
highly successful lives, Kris honed her skills by managing
her former spouse, Caitlyn Jenner who gained prominence
with a victorious performance at the Olympic decathlon
event in Quebec, Canada, in 1976. Consequently, numerous
speaking engagements, often coordinated by Kris, became
a pivotal avenue for Caitlyn's public presence.
Kris sprang into action upon Kendall expressing her desire
to pursue a modelling career witnessing her genuine
dedication. Celebrated for her adeptness at capitalizing on
opportunities to enhance her family's financial standing,
Kris facilitated Kendall's entry into the modelling industry
by forging connections with esteemed agencies. By 2018,
Kendall Jenner had ascended to the pinnacle of the
modelling world, earning the title of the highest-paid model
globally, with an estimated income of US$22.5 million, as
recognized by Forbes.
In addition to overseeing Kim's burgeoning empire, which
now encompasses Kim Kardashian West Beauty and Kylie
Jenner’s lucratively established beauty brand, Kris's other
daughters have flourished in the business domain as well.
With what commenced with Smooch and Dash stores
evolved into full-fledged clothing lines, shoe collections,
home décor ranges, fragrances, and handbag lines, with
the sisters actively involved in the design process. Khloe
Kardashian spearheads Good American, a clothing line
tailored for women and Kourtney is the brains behind
Poosh. Forbes estimated that Kris Jenner pocketed at least
US$100,000 from each episode of “Keeping Up With the
Kardashians” in 2020, in addition to her customary 10%
management fee from her children's endeavours. Coupled
with her stakes in various businesses, an autobiography,
and a cookbook, Kris's net worth soared to approximately
US$190 million. When asked about orchestrating these
deals, Kris Jenner acknowledged, "I used to be a one-man
show, but then I realized, you know, it takes a village."
In addition to their multifaceted enterprises, the Kardashian
sisters leverage social media to generate substantial
income. Kris revealed her daughter are constantly receiving
offers to promote companies or brands on social media and
have so set fees for posts, stories, and various platforms.
When queried about the top earners, Kris noted that Kylie
and Kim command higher prices due to their immense
social media presence.
As the mommy-mogul turns 70 next year, she reveals that
her bucket list isn’t as extraordinary as some may believe
as staying healthy and living a long and able life is what
matters to her most. Reflecting upon her growth in The
Golden State as an individual and as a mom who truly
put her family on the map, she concluded sharing, “It’s
a personal journey. You have to be driven and have the
motivation, inspiration and desire to be successful. If you
can dream it, you can do it”.
Forbes estimated that Kris Jenner pocketed at least US$100,000 from
each episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” on top of her
customary 10% management fee from her children's various pursuits

LONG HAUL
ESSENTIALS
Here is a list of parenting hacks to help
when road-tripping with the little ones
Lets be honest. Traveling with kids is not a vacation for
parents. The same needs will still need to be met but
in a different location and sans the comforts of home.
The best way to make it through unscathed is purely
through being well organized. Here are a few hacks
that may help.
Plan outfits in advance: Save time and headspace by
picking out your child’s outfits before the trip. Keep the
outfits together by putting them in separate Ziplock
bags. After use, it can go back into the same Ziplock
bag and kept separate from fresh clothing.
Phone number bracelets: This is more for safety
especially if headed to a highly populated destination
over the holidays. Use numbered and decorative beads
to create a fun yet practical bracelet with your name
and phone number for your child to wear. Should you
get separated, someone will be able to contact you.

78
MAY/JUNE 2024 TIPS
Cover your car seat with sheets: Keeping your car
clean is pivotal to avoid additional unforeseen cleanup
before, during or after a roadtrip. Put old sheets over
the seats of your car to catch crumbs and prevent spills
from ruining your car.
Bring an activity book: There are tons of free printables
online. Just print, laminate and put the printables in
sheet protectors and give the kids dry erase markers.
They will be entertained for ages while giving you
peace as you drive.
First Aid Kit: Don’t rely on other people having a first
kit available. Build or get your own before you leave,
in case of emergency. Include bandages, antibiotic
ointment, and Tylenol.
Make a travel itinerary: Print out pictures of fun things
that you’ll be doing on your trip as well as things you’ll
be seeing on your drive. Turn them into a little book for
your kids to look through to keep them excited during
your road trip.
Bring a travel tray: Travel trays will help when the kids
need a snack or a solid flat surface for when they want
to colour while you’re on the road.
Freeze juice boxes: Instead of using a cooler filled with ice
to keep food and drinks at the right temperature, try freezing
juice boxes instead. It will keep everything cool, and your kids
can drink them after they thaw.
Goodie Bags: Before pushing off, pack individual goodie bags
catered to each kid with their favourite toys, snacks, and other
fun items. Pull one out if your kids get a little restless during
the trip and watch them light up.
Use a sewing kit to organize snacks: Kids get hungry all
the time. Ensure they are eating a better selection of snacks
when you’re on the road, by using a clean sewing kit to hold
therapy at the 2Level Wellness Spa?
Removes Dandruff: Bid farewell to pesky flakes and itching
scalp with their specialized treatment. By deeply cleansing
the scalp and balancing its pH levels, the therapy session
effectively eliminates dandruff, leaving you with a clean and
itch-free scalp.
Scalp care therapy isn't just about maintaining a luscious
mane; it's about nourishing the very foundation of healthy
hair – the scalp. Here, we delve into the five major benefits
of 2Level Wellness Spa’s scalp care therapy treatment and
why it's a must-try for anyone looking to revitalize their
hair and mind.
Prevents Hair Thinning and Hair Loss: Hair thinning and loss
can be distressing, but they're not inevitable. The scalp care
therapy strengthens hair roots, preventing breakage and
promoting thicker, fuller hair over time. Say hello to stronger,
more resilient strands with each session.
Unclogs Hair Follicles: Throughout our daily lives, our scalp
can accumulate dirt, oil, and product buildup, leading to
clogged hair follicles. This not only hampers hair growth but
can also result in issues like dandruff and hair thinning. The
scalp care therapy effectively unclogs these follicles, allowing
your hair to breathe and flourish.
Accelerates Blood Circulation: Proper blood circulation is vital
for delivering essential nutrients to the scalp and hair follicles.
By stimulating blood flow through gentle massage techniques,
the therapy encourages faster hair growth and healthier strands
from the root.

SHORTS
Love it or hate it, the micro short is here.
Baring pretty much the entire thigh, it is
definitely leg day, everyday at the gym for
those of us who absolutely need to rock
this trend. Typically high waisted, the micro
short has two favoured cuts. First is a fitted
and sleek look as seen in Dolce & Gabbana,
Chanel and Stella McCartney. The second
is belted at the waist and a more loose
fit ala Hermes, Prada and Versace. What
is interesting to note is that no matter
the cut, there is a fun play with lengths in
terms of the jacket, belt or cardigan paired
with these shorts adding dimension while
concealing the “shock” factor of the length
of the micro short.

When one thinks of florals, the
immediate notion it brings up is that
it is romantic, feminine and sweet. The
runways of Stella McCartney, Michael
showcase this with their soft, flowy
and floaty designs. But, if you long
ELIGHT
This may sound rather risque but with
a sprinkling of style dust, this is very
much a trend that can be worked
by either modest or devil-may-care
personalities. Don a sheer skirt over
an opaque under layer or tuck a long
oversized top into the skirt for a more
sophisticated take on the trend as seen
in Louis Vuitton and Missoni. If that
isn’t your vibe, slip it on over those
HMD Global, home of Nokia
TROPICANA MAGAZINE
Nokia owned Finnish company - HMD Global, best known for
producing Nokia-branded smartphones, has announced plans
to release its own line of mobile devices. The announcement
was made on LinkedIn by HMD Global CEO Jean-Francois
Baril stating that the company will be broadening its range
of mobile devices with a new HMD brand smartphone that is
intended to co-exist alongside its Nokia phones.
Having had the exclusive position of being the home of Nokia
phones for the last six years, it was declared that it seemed the
next logical step to enter the market to produce and launch on
their own independently. A force focused on redesigning a new
world of telecommunications, HMD has shared very openly that
it will be purely based on the customer’s experience and needs.
Details regarding the new HMD products, including a
potential release date, remain undisclosed. Efforts to obtain
further information from HMD Global are underway, and
should be announced soon.
HMD Global is a company that was formed after Microsoft
relinquished its rights to the Nokia brand in 2016. Foxconn,
Taiwanese technological group, then took over Microsoft’s
feature phone business. Founder of Foxconn - Terry Gou,
is the main owner of HMD Global and so, Nokia-branded
devices are currently produced by Foxconn making it highly
likely that any HMD-branded products in the pipeline will
also be manufactured by the tech giant.
Nokia-branded phones like the Nokia C32 released by HMD
have largely sat in the budget-to-mid-tier category so far,
and it looks like future HMD-branded devices may follow suit.
The company will continue to design for a more sustainable
and affordable future without compromising on quality. Even
if Foxconn is behind the actual manufacturing of these new
devices, HMD Global, one of the largest smartphone companies
in Europe, is still largely run by former Nokia executives making
this an opportunity for the company to reclaim some of the
brand’s legacy under a new name.

Chinese seafood dining
at its finest is at none
other than Atlantic
Seafood Restaurant
Located in Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, Atlantic
Seafood Restaurant is a full-service fine dining restaurant
that serves premium pork-free Chinese seafood placing
emphasis on freshness and flavour. Having just opened
its doors in March, the restaurant can already boast a
guest profile comprising mainly of highly distinguished
customers and gatherings of office folk on the weekday
with families dining in on the weekend. The restaurant
itself cannot be missed as one walks into the main
clubhouse with a clear view of the restaurant signage
immediately in front of you.

Walking through large glass sliding doors, you will be greeted by the
star attraction of the restaurant and that is the Aquarium, strategically
located facing the main entrance across the restaurant. Featuring a
spectrum of tanks of varying sizes, it is almost like walking through a
commercial aquarium. On view are live fish, prawns, lobsters, crabs,
clams and abalone flown in from all around the world. There is a wide
range of local fish and prawns available on the menu too. Diners can
make their choice from the selection of live fish and seafood here to
be prepared to their liking by the Master Chefs.
Resort’s operations. She said, “Tan Sri had run many kinds
of restaurants in that location when it suddenly come to
him that maybe we could operate a seafood restaurant
in the club as he believed the seafood business is gaining
even more popularity and is the preferred cuisine by most
of the members and guests”. Abby added that, that was
when her parents, the Founders of Unique Seafood - Datuk
Wong Keong Fook and Datin Kok Yoke Sim entered into a
partnership with Tan Sri and the rest, is as they say, history.
The other sight to behold in the restaurant is the chandelier that
hangs above the center court of the restaurant. Many little chrome
fish hang down from the blue strip lights in a wave pattern casting
a beautiful array of fish shaped shadows on the floor and on the
tables while the ceiling mimics the sea. The rest of the restaurant
is elegant and zen with a modern minimalist fit out and light wood
paneling accented with chrome and gold fish placed on the walls
as hanging art.
I was warmly welcomed by one of the four directors of the restaurant
– Abby Wong Mun Yee, who handles the Sales & Marketing for
Atlantic Seafood Restaurant. Other directors are Yew Kong Chee
who handles Operations at the restaurant alongside Alex Wong
Yuen Lek while Low Yong Hui handles general operations.
On that happy note, I was politely ushered into a private
room. Abby shares that the restaurant has 5 private rooms all
of which are fitted with KTV facilities and are available for the
comfort of guests hosting business and leisure gatherings or
for families who wish to celebrate in private. Banquet menus
for private functions as well as weddings are also available.
Behind the scenes, Chef Low Chee Yeow and Chef Lew Chee
How are responsible for the flavourful dishes that you will be
served. The former is the Banquet Head Chef with several
decades of cooking Chinese seafood and banquet dinners
under his belt. The latter, although younger, is highly skilled
and was the head chef for a famous Chinese restaurant chain
for over a decade. He is now the restaurant's Head Chef.
Abby did divulge that the formation of Atlantic Seafood Restaurant
was while Tan Sri Dato Tan Chee Sing- Founder of Tropicana,
reflected upon the last 3 decades of Tropicana Golf & Country
And now, it is onto my favourite part and that is the food review.
With seven dishes to sample from, I am keen to see how the food
matches up to its’ beautiful and impressive interior. The first dish
served was oysters and being a superior Chinese seafood restaurant,
it was not served raw but baked. One would be hard pressed to
find good “French style Cheese baked Canadian oysters” and it was
to my utter delight to chance upon them here at Atlantic Seafood
Restaurant. Using Canadian oysters, the size of the shellfish wasn’t
too large nor small seeming the perfect size for a single bite. Served
hot, the cheese is soft and stringy without being too liquid and had
that perfect burnt crust on top. The shell was warm to the touch,
easy enough to be picked up after a few minutes allowing the
cheese to fuse with the oyster, lending more flavour. With a flick
of the fork separating the oyster from its shell, it is easily lifted and
eaten. Not too milky nor sea-like in flavour, the soft mouthful of
oyster paired seamlessly with the chewy cheese and was certainly
a heavenly teaser indicating the party my palate was to embark on
during this food review.
The next appetizer to follow was the “Peking duck”. Roasted to
perfection, its’ skin was so glossy and shiny that it was almost
reflective. Served alongside it were sliced cucumber fingers, strings
of green onion, sweet bean paste and thin pancake sheets. The duck,
presented whole was then sliced off the bone and presented again

118
MAY/JUNE 2024 TASTE+
later on a platter in perfect bite sized portions of duck meat with
crispy thin skin atop. Requiring assembly, Peking duck parcels are
usually put together with a light thin smearing of the sweet bean
sauce across the thin pancake. The cucumber fingers and green
onion slices are then placed in the middle. Finally, a piece or two
of the duck is placed on top of the vegetables and wrapped up
revealing a neat little package ready to be eaten. A quick bite of
the wrap and it is immediately a sensory and textural delight.
The soft pancake envelopes the crunchy cucumber and green
onion while the chewy duck meat and crispy skin are heady with
the scent of the meat. The sweet bean paste brings all the senses
together creating an unrivalled match of flavours.
Visually tantalizing, the ‘Steamed King Grouper fish in slices with soy
sauce and beancurd’ was a burst of colour and fragrance. Placed in
position from head-to-tail on a bed of green onions and beancurd
soaked in soy sauce, the body of the fish was deconstructed as the
fish was sliced into sheets thin enough to eat but thick enough to
hold its shape. The silvery skin of the fish was soft and glistened as
it was placed on the table. Sampling this Cantonese seafood dinner
main course, the meat of the steamed fish was taut and firm while
remaining soft and possessed a clean flavour profile. The soy sauce
lent a sweet saltiness to it while the sharp spice from the green
onion cut through the “heavier” flavours of this delightfully light
dish making is a harmonious symphony with every bite.

TROPICANA MAGAZINE
119
The “Steamed tiger prawns with minced garlic and vermicelli”
was the first shellfish dish to arrive. The prawns were lined
neatly in a row atop the vermicelli while a fragrant layer of garlic
gravy was drizzled heavily across the center on top. Juicy and
plump, the steamed tiger prawns were a treat to de-shell and
eat indicating true freshness. The garlic sauce dripped down
and drenched the vermicelli allowing every bite to be a savoury
delight without being too heavy on the palate.
It knew it was time to get a little more hands-on when the
“Indonesian meat crab in ‘Atlantic’ chili sauce with mantou buns”
was served. It was brought out as was two whole crabs, carefully
sectioned and placed back together giving the illusion that the
crabs were whole. Visually pleasing as it arrived swimming in
steaming hot and spicy chili gravy, its’ fragrance was intoxicating
and bewildering at the same time. Two sets of buns, also
known as ‘mantou’ buns, were placed beside the crabs. One of
a steamed variety and the other fried, the bread had the sole
purpose of being dunked into the gravy to soak up it up and then
eaten allowing the diner to enjoy the full experience of the gravy.
Of course, I digress. The shell of the head of the crab peeled off
easily revealing the body and claws and fragments of crab meat.
With the help of a nutcracker, the harder shell of the crab claw
was cracked open revealing the best mouthful of crabmeat. A
swift dribble of the chili gravy over it and the dish peaked with a
burst of flavours! The spicy, sweet and tangy sensations paired
flawlessly with the savoury crabmeat indicating freshness and a
true mastery of marrying flavours.
My eyes widened when the “Braised Boston lobster with e-fu
noodles” was brought out next. It isn’t every day I get to indulge
in a great seafood lunch and one that had Boston lobster on
the menu! The noodles glistened and it was easy to notice that
it was cooked to perfection. Not overly soft nor undercooked,
each noodle was lightly coated with gravy. A large lobster tail
that was halved was placed like a crown above the noodles
creating what was truly a majestic sight. Managing to slice
through the lobster, I took half a tail while already anticipating
the other half and quickly swirled my fork in the noodles taking
a bite sized amount to start. The e-fu noodles, that is typically
made from egg and wheat flour, was a slurpy, savoury thrill.
Its’ flavour was so distinct and heady with a seafood broth
base that I was hooked. Looking to the lobster, I released the
meat from its shell and cut it down to bite size. It was juicy and
firm and soaked up the thick broth base that remained from
the noodles. Truly the piece-de-resistance for me, my seafood
review culminated with this mouthful as the lobster meat was
soft and chewy and fragrant with flavour.
Nothing like a great big serving of greens to cleanse the palate
and it was certainly a delight to see that the staple to every
Chinese meal – the Hong Kong Kailan, was served in not one,
but two ways. Famously known as “Hong Kong Kailan in two
varieties”, I was familiar with the first style which was the
garlic stir fried version of the vegetable but it was the second
variety that was truly a wonder. Small, light and crispy, it was
the leaves of the vegetable and it was lightly fried to a crisp
without compromising its fresh green hue. Adding texture to
any bite, it was a great and welcomed addition to the meal.
The garlic stir fry was flavourful and crunchy and it was indeed
so fresh and delicious. Being sourced from Tropicana Golf &
Country Resort’s organic farm, it was pleasing to know that
ingredients are direct from farm-to-table and that efforts to be
sustainable were in play too.
As sure as it began, the seafood feast had to conclude
but not for Atlantic Seafood Reataurant as you may call
Pets Megastore and the pet
industry

132
MAY/JUNE 2024 TREND
In the lively, spirited and buzzing atmosphere of Kuala Lumpur,
amidst the vibrant energy of the city, lies a haven where pets
and their owners find solace, support, and a sense of belonging.
Just Pets Megastore, helmed by its’ visionary Managing Director
Alex Lim, isn't just a retail space—it's a lifestyle destination, a
sanctuary for both pets and their human companions.
Nestled within its expansive halls is a world dedicated to all
things pets. Just Pets Megastore isn't merely a pet shop; it's a
comprehensive platform designed to cater to every aspect of
the pet experience. From healthcare services to an extensive
array of products, from grooming facilities to a petting zoo for
families and children, this megastore is a one-stop destination
for all things furry, feathered, and scaled.
Alex Lim, Managing Director of Just Pets Megastore
At its core, Just Pets Megastore is driven by a profound mission:
to redefine the standards of pet care across Southeast Asia. With
a vision to establish itself as the largest chain of pet stores in
the region, Alex Lim and his team are on a journey to transform
the pet industry landscape. “Over the next five years, we plan
to expand our reach, bringing our unique blend of services and
expertise to every corner of Southeast Asia with the goal of
managing 1,000 outlets under our belts,” he said.
But beyond its commercial aspirations, Just Pets Megastore
is deeply rooted in a sense of community. Recognising the
challenges faced by traditional pet shops, particularly in the
face of online giants, the megastore aims to support and uplift
fellow entrepreneurs in the industry. Through mentorship,
strategic partnerships, and innovative business practices, they
seek to ensure the sustainability and success of pet businesses,
while also setting higher standards for animal welfare. Lim
elaborated sharing that with more information, knowledge and
better practices, together, all pet stores will be able to regulate
and revolutionise the industry as it will prohibit backyard
breeders and smugglers from trying to make a quick buck.
One of the distinguishing features of Just Pets Megastore is
its commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment

shops which struggle with issues of animal welfare and health, Just
Pets Megastore prioritises the well-being of its furry residents. By
implementing stringent care protocols and investing in staff training,
we are minimising risk and creating a sanctuary where both pets and
customers can thrive”.
But Just Pets Megastore isn't just about commerce—it's about
connection. Through their petting zoo and interactive experiences,
they aim to foster deeper bonds between families and their animal
companions. By providing opportunities for hands-on engagement
and education, they hope to instill values of responsibility,
compassion, and respect for all living beings.
Moreover, Just Pets Megastore is committed to making a positive
impact beyond its walls. Through their corporate social responsibility
(CSR) initiatives, they aim to support both animal welfare causes
Embarking on a journey to support animal shelters is
a noble endeavour that can bring immense joy and
fulfillment to both you and the furry friends you'll be
someone looking to make a positive impact in the lives
of our four-legged companions, there are countless ways
to get involved and contribute to this worthy cause.
From volunteering your time and skills at local shelters
to donating much-needed supplies or funds, every effort,
no matter how small, can make a significant difference in
the lives of these animals. So, if you're ready to extend a
and underprivileged children. By offering transformative
experiences and opportunities for growth, they seek to create
a ripple effect of kindness and empathy in the community.
“Often we see many kind souls offer donations of food and
school necessities to underprivileged kids but we hope
through opening our doors and allowing kids to interact with
the animals, they will get a deeper sense of purpose in life
and perhaps broaden their perspective of the world and the
fact that there is a lot more love out there”, said Lim of the
first CSR event held at the Megastore during the Ramadan
month this year.
At its essence, Just Pets Megastore embodies the values of
love, passion, and care. It's more than just a business—it's
a testament to the enduring bond between humans and
animals, a celebration of the joy and enrichment they bring
to our lives. So, whether you're a seasoned pet owner or a
newcomer to the world of fur, feathers and scales, come
and experience the magic of Just Pets Megastore—a place
where pets are family, and love knows no bounds.
