On Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m.-2
p.m., area homeowners and garden enthusiasts
will have the chance to meet with
local garden shops, home improvement
companies, interior design experts and
more at the West St. Louis County Chamber
of Commerce’s inaugural Home &
Garden Expo.
Held at the Greensfelder Recreation
Complex in Queeny Park, 550 Weidman
Road, this free event offers something for
everyone – including a coloring station
for kids and light refreshments courtesy of
Eureka Contracting and Roofing. In a nod
to the expo’s commitment to sustainability
and community greening, the Missouri
Department of Conservation will give
away 700 tree saplings – one per household
– while supplies last.
That’s not the only chance to take
home something free and fabulous. Every
vendor at the expo will host a drawing for
a prize package valued at $50, providing
plenty of chances for attendees to win
something special. The event’s manageable
size ensures that visitors can have
meaningful conversations with vendors,
making it easier to find answers to specific
home and garden questions. If an
attendee has a query that isn’t addressed,
the Chamber’s booth will be ready to help,
directing visitors to other Chamber members
who can provide further assistance.
When asked about the motivation behind
the Home and Garden Expo, Chamber
President and CEO Lori Kelling said, “At
the heart of our Chamber’s mission is the
goal to forge strong bonds between our
community and local businesses. This
expo offers a prime, cost-effective platform
for these connections to flourish. By
designing the event to be accessible and
appropriately scaled, we ensure that both
vendors and attendees can engage deeply
and meaningfully. It’s the ideal setting
to nurture relationships and unlock new
opportunities within our region.”
All attendees will also receive a complimentary
copy of the Chamber’s West
County Home & Garden Magazine. This
magazine is packed with valuable information
and articles from vendors, offering
insights and ideas for attendees to take
home, further enhancing the experience of
the expo, according to Kelling.
“We believe this expo will showcase
the best our local businesses have to offer
and foster lasting relationships within
the community,” Kelling said. “We’re
proud to have Ballwin Tree Service as the
expo’s title sponsor. Their support helps
underscore the importance of local business
collaboration in enhancing community
living spaces.”
