ARAB STRAP (with full band) :: At Brickyard,
Carlisle. Arab Strap are a Scottish indie rock
band whose core members are Aidan Moffat and
Malcolm Middleton. In January 2024, the band
announced their new album, I'm totally fine with
it, don't give a fuck anymore, with the first
single "Bliss". The album will be released on

Nibbles. Ma Kelly's Boys play Status Quo from
the golden years of 1970 to 1976, covering
material from the albums 'Ma Kelly's Greasy
Spoon' until 'Blue For You". Come join Ma Kelly's
Boys and drink of the Quo boogie. A cover band
playing 1970-1976 Status Quo covers with a raw
70s sound, not always note for note....but then
neither did Quo when playing live! Definitely not
something for everyone!

When Mountains Meet :: At Corn Exchange,
Melrose. The captivating cross-cultural tale tells
the true story of Scottish musician Anne Wood
as she travels from the Highlands to the
Himalayas to meet her father for the first time.
Featuring an international cast of storytellers
and musicians, the show features a vibrant live
score combining alap, raag, reel and strathspey,
as well as English, Gaelic and Hindustani vocals.
‘The When Mountains Meet’ album will be
released on 25 April. Featuring new music
composed by Anne, the show is co-directed by
Kath Burlinson (Mairi Campbell: Pulse and Auld
Lang Syne) and Niloo-Far Khan (Play, Pie, Pint;
Grid Iron/EIF; NTS) with Mary MacMaster (The
Poozies) on harp, Rick Wilson on percussion and
Rakae Jamil on sitar. The cast of storytellers is
Iman Aktar (The Great Muslim Panto, Play, Pie,
Pint), Hassan Javed (The Great Muslim Panto,
Play, Pie, Pint) and Jamie Zubari (In The Weeds,
Mull Theatre).

BLACK UMFOLOSI :: At MacArts, Bridge

Acappella and Dance Group from Zimbabwe -
The idea of Black Umfolosi came about in 1982
when a group of school mates started
improvising their own means of entertainment,
while at a ZIMFEP Institute. With a gentleness of
spirit, a joy of singing and exuberance in dance,
Black Umfolosi has touched audiences of all ages
locally and internationally since then, and hence
having done sixteen recordings.

TAILGUNNER ‘Guns For Hire Tour’ with

This nine headed ska demon has been tearing
up stages the length and breadth of the British
Isles since before The Crusades. Renowned for
their technical prowess as much as their
infectious ska anthems, they combine lush,
threepart harmonies with choppy guitar attacks
and an explosive horn section to truly blow the
