have Roots join him for the shows: "We've been<br />

pals for a long time and played shows together in<br />

the UK, Estonia, Finland and further afield many<br />

times over the years. "It all started in 2005 when<br />

Andres contacted me after seeing a feature in<br />

Mojo Magazine," says Arcari. "He invited to play<br />

some shows and a big festival (Augustibluus) in<br />

Estonia and we've been regular visors to each<br />

other's countries almost every year since."<br />

RACHEL NEWTON :: At Lanternhouse<br />

(Cumbernauld Folk Club), Cumbernauld. Singer,<br />

harpist and composer Rachel Newton draws on<br />

poems, ballads and stories that are hundreds of<br />

years old, working them into her contemporary<br />

compositional style to create a rich sound that is<br />

ambitious, original and unique. Rachel has worked<br />

and performed with artists from a range of<br />

disciplines including theatre, dance, storytelling<br />

and visual art. A skilled collaborator, Rachel is a<br />

founder member of The Furrow Collective and the<br />

Lost Words: Spell Songs, as well as the duo<br />

project Heal & Harrow with long time friend and<br />

colleague Lauren MacColl.<br />

September 15th and sending our series off in style<br />
