G40 2JZ. 7.30pm, £25adv. Jim Bob is one oil painting<br />

exhibition short of being Britain’s greatest living<br />

renaissance man. You might know him best as the<br />

singer with Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. He<br />

had fourteen top 40 singles and four top ten albums<br />

(including a number one) with them. Carter toured<br />

the world and headlined Glastonbury before breaking<br />

ORBITAL :: At The Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow.<br />

Orbital are to reissue their seminal self-titled 1991<br />

debut album, known to fans as ‘The Green Album’, on<br />

19th April via London Records. Formats include a 4LP<br />

Box Set, 4CD Box Set, Black and Coloured 2LP, 2CD,<br />

and Cassette. All tracks have been fully remastered<br />

by Phil and Paul Hartnoll for the very first time. The<br />

news arrives as the duo confirm details for ‘The Green<br />

+ Brown Album Tour’ this Spring, in which they will<br />

revisit not only ‘The Green Album’ but also its<br />

legendary successor ‘The Brown Album’ at their<br />

SCOTTISH NATIONAL JAZZ ORCHESTRA & RSNO<br />

- Rhapsody In Blue :: At Glasgow Royal Concert<br />

to swing! The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra (SNJO)<br />

is considered by many to be one of Europe’s foremost<br />

contemporary big bands. Founder/Director Tommy<br />

Smith established the SNJO in 1995 as a not-for-profit<br />

organisation with a crystal clear artistic vision and<br />

core values of versatility, discipline and expression.<br />

The SNJO is dedicated to promoting jazz as a preeminent<br />

art form through performances, original<br />

compositions, recordings, and educational outreach<br />

programmes. This commitment extends to the task of<br />

developing promising young jazz musicians through<br />

the ranks of The Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra.<br />

G4 9JF. £15. Alice Howe and Freebo present a unique<br />

study in contrasts, bringing together a rising voice in<br />

Americana music and a venerable rock, folk, and<br />

blues icon. They have worked as creative<br />

collaborators in the studio and on stage since 2017.<br />

Freebo, best known for his decade of touring and<br />

recording with Bonnie Raitt, weaves his unique<br />

fretless bass stylings into Alice’s superb vocals for a<br />

presentation with undeniable chemistry.<br />
