During wartime, children are exposed to terrifying and horrifying situations, which can lead to posttraumatic stress disorder. In war-affected children, severe losses and disruptions in their lives lead to high rates of depression and anxiety. Have you ever asked this to yourselves, how lucky am I? Have you ever considered how fortunate we are at SISQ to have lights and air conditioning in every room and hallway? What about the internet and the water? According to UNESCO, only 69 percent of primary schools have electricity, and in less developed countries, the figure drops to 34 percent. According to UNICEF, only 69 percent of schools have access to drinking water, 63 percent have access to basic sanitation (toilets, etc.), and only 54 percent have access to basic hygiene (soap and water).
