THE QUEEN’S COLLEGE
WHAT WILL YOUR
LEGACY BE?
PLANNED GIVING AT
THE QUEEN’S COLLEGE
A planned gift to Queen’s is one of the most meaningful and long-lasting
ways that you can support our historic mission.
PLANNED GIVING AT QUEEN’S
Planned gifts have transformed Queen’s over the
centuries. Starting with Robert de Eglesfield and
Queen Philippa, and continuing through the following
seven centuries, these deeply personal gifts have
enriched our students’ experience, developed our
excellence in research, enhanced our historic buildings,
and sustained the College community.
Advantages of a planned gift:
• Ability to decide how your assets will be used in
the future.
• Easy to include or add to a will or living trust.
• Estate plans can be changed at any time.
• You and your family maintain control over your
assets throughout your lifetime.
• There may be tax benefits for your estate.
‘Every planned gift is an investment
in the future of Queen’s and the next
generation of students and researchers.
We are most grateful.’
Dr Claire Craig, The Provost
PLANNING YOUR GIFT
We are honoured that you are considering a planned gift
to Queen’s. A planned gift can be given as:
• A specific amount through your estate (pecuniary)
• A percentage of your estate (residual)
• Life income gifts (reversionary).
Any of these gifts can be given to support the area
of greatest need at Queen’s or to support an area
of College life or academic priority that is particularly
important to you.
PREPARING YOUR WORDING
Here is sample language for including Queen’s in your will
or living trust. Please seek advice from an attorney when
making your will.
‘I give_____ (the whole, an amount or a percentage
share) of my estate to the Provost and Scholars of The
Queen’s College in the University of Oxford to be used
for__________, and I declare that the receipt of the Provost
or other duly authorised officer shall be a full and sufficient
discharge to my Executors.’
