THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC
OF UZBEKISTAN
stipulated to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of
Mr. Sharaf Rashidov, the outstanding statesman, poet and
writer, who faithfully and devotedly served the Motherland
and the people for the rest of his live.
The said document specified to establish a Scientific and
Educational Memorial House Museum in his homeland –
the city of Jizzakh.

After the death of Sh. Rashidov, his office
apartment in Tashkent was given to another
government official. In the homeland of Sharaf
Rashidov, in the suburbs of the city of Jizzakh
remained a house where Sharaf Rashidov's
late parents, Rashid-ota and Kuisina-ona lived.
Sharaf Rashidov's spouse restored this old house,
where some of the things were moved to and were
stored in this house until today. The family and close
relatives has decided to collect everything related to his
name. The books of his library, documents, letters of
fellow soldiers were also moved thereto. Friends,
acquaintances and children of people whom Sh.
Rashidov once worked and met with were very helpful in
collecting the materials about him. This work has started
in 2014 and is still underway.
It happened that his
father's house and a small
cozy courtyard in Jizzakh
are the only place in
Uzbekistan where the one
can learn about his life
and activities, about his
family and folks. It is the
house where his personal
belongings and personal
documents are
demonstrated.

THE MAIN HALL OF THE
HOUSE MUSEUM
all stages of Sharaf Rashidov's
life are described and displayed on
the stands – starting from the date of
his birth, that is, November 6, 1917, to
the date of his death – October 31,
1983. There are also his state and
military awards presented on separate
stands, the awards he received during
the battles on three fronts of the
Great Patriotic War, foreign awards of
8 countries, and the documents
thereto.
Personal documents are
shown chronologically, the
service record, membership
cards of the Union of
Writers, the Literary Fund,
the Supreme Council and
the Central Committee of
the Soviet and Uzbekistan
Communist Party, honorary
badges of various
organizations.

THE LIBRARY
OF SHARAF RASHIDOV
consisting of 3 parts.

The first part of the library represents
the books collected by Sh. Rashidov
throughout his life.
Many books were lost during the period of
repressions, yet likewise the whole House
Museum, this library was collected bit by bit
from books kept by relatives and close
people who agreed to keep Sharaf
Rashidov's personal belongings during the
most difficult years of repressions. The
library stores books with notes and remarks
by Sh. Rashidov.
The second part of the library
consists of books donated by
the authors.
These are Pablo Neruda, Nazim
Hikmet, Sadriddin Aini, poet Habibiy,
Kostantin Simonov, Rasul Gamzatov,
Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Chingiz
Akhmatov, composers Aram
Khachaturian, Dmitry Kabalevsky,
outstanding poets and artists of that
time. The library stores the
correspondence of Sh. Rashidov with
Kostantin Fedin, Alexander Fadeev, etc.
A large section
of the library is
Sh. Rashidov's
own works,
published in
different years,
including prose
and poetry, with
a special part
given to
journalism. There
are also his
works translated
into many world
languages,
critical articles,
and articles on
literary theory.

STUDY ROOM
reproduced based on preserved
household items and by the materials
from the home archive related to his
correspondence, manuscripts, travel
notes and remarks.
On the walls of the study there are
portraits of Sharaf Rashidov and
Khursanoy Rashidov by the talented
Uzbek artist Renan Y. Viko, a portrait of
his wife by an unknown artist, as well as a
painting by the famous Uzbek artist
Vladimir Kaidalov themed on the novel
"The winners". "The Portrait of Sharaf
Rashidov" – the work by the outstanding
Uzbek artist Bokhodir Jalalov is installed
in the main hall of the House Museum.
The study
contains books
which are mostly
signed and
donated by the
authors.
This collection of
books is very rare,
most of them by
the outstanding
writers and poets,
musicians, and
composers of that
time, now distant
for the current
generation.

KHURSANOY G.
RASHIDOV, AND THEIR FAMILY.
Khursanoy G. Rashidov was a wonderful
woman, a faithful companion of life and the
preserver of the hearth of the Rashidov's
family home.
It also has information about children, close
relatives, and personal items from the
family archive.
Sharaf R. Rashidov and Khursanoy G. Rashidov raised five
children and gave them a brilliant education. She worked as
a teacher at the History Department of Tashkent University
until the birth of their youngest daughter. Khursanoy
Rashidov was loved very much and deeply respected by her
colleagues, people who knew her, relatives, fellow villagers.
With knowing her
nobility and
wisdom, people
often asked he
for advice and
help, since she
would always
prompt in
difficult life
situations and
support humanwise.
People
cherish the
memory of her.
To this day, she
is set as an
example for
young girls who
expect to start a
family and raise
children.

CONFERENCE ROOM
of the House Museum
This is the most cozy and favorite
meeting place for friends, veterans and
guests of the House Museum.
This hall is a usual place to host thematic
meetings with students of schools and
colleges, presentations of new
publications, meetings of the Board of
Trustees of the House Museum.
With this, the
conference
hall is also an
exhibition hall,
where various
exhibitions
and
competitions
of creative
works by
talented youth
of the region
are held by.

RD
RESEARCH
DEPARTMENT
of House Museum.
With all the importance of the figure of Sh. R.
Rashidov, his political, state, literary heritage, as well
as his life are little studied. The research department
is designed to study his rich heritage, works done
throughout the years.
The Research
Department of the
House Museum
works on the study of
Sharaf Rashidov's
early lyrics, poetry of
pre-war and wartime,
literary and critical
articles, major prose
works by Sh.
Rashidov. Manuscripts
of almost all works
are displayed both in
the protected fund of
the museum and in
the public domain.
The Research
Department has
prepared photo
exhibitions on various
topics, including "The
development of virgin
lands in Uzbekistan", a
photo exhibitions about
the creation of the
mining industry and
about the space industry
of Uzbekistan.
An exhibition of Sh.
Rashidov's manuscripts
has also been prepared,
which is planned to be
shown at the House
Museum in Jizzakh.
The Research
Department has
prepared a video
with newsreel
footage and
interviews with
colleagues and
family friends who
have passed the
difficult paths of the
post-war period and
the creation of the
economy of
Uzbekistan in the
post-war period.
Currently, the Research Department of the House
Museum together with a group of scientists works on
making an interactive map of Uzbekistan existed
during the leadership of Sh. Rashidov. This map
includes archival data on Uzbekistan for several
decades. The House Museum together with the Sh.
Rashidov's Foundation has prepared and held in 2021
the international conference "Sharaf Rashidov is a
man of the epoch", dedicated to the study of the
heritage of Sh. Rashidov and his contribution to the
economy of Uzbekistan.

for exhibitions, and information on other
events.
The website also publishes reprinted
works of Sharaf Rashidov which were
going to the print.
