DD7 Builders Kit<br />

• Direct replacement of the Cruise Drive Harley-Davidson factory 6-speed. Comes ready to slide in the bike, no case modifications,<br />

shimming of the gear set or adjustments required.<br />

• The 7th gear enables the motorcycle to now make full use, by the way of gear ratio management, of the torque and power<br />

put out today’s modern muscle machines. No lugging the motorcycle off of a stop light. The shorter first gear ratio (numerically<br />

higher) helps with off the light get up and go as well as slow speed maneuvering. The remaining gears were tightened to ensure<br />

no large RPM drops allowing you to always find the right gear.<br />

• DD7 door bearings are 28% wider than stock and the door is produced from billet 6061-T6 aluminum. These features, along with<br />

our steel bearing retainer plate, ensures that under heavy load the door bearings will not walk.<br />

• The DD7 Builder‘s kit includes new main drive gear bearing and seal, polished door, door gasket, side cover gasket, top cover<br />

gasket and self-adhesive DD7 side cover emblem. 2nd & 3rd gear a fully diamond ground spur cut gears to handle the peak torque<br />

that is reached in that range.<br />

• 1st, and 4th through 7th gear are helical cut gears to deliver a quieter riding experience at slow speeds and at cruising speeds.<br />

• Smooth shifting without the stock clunks or ‚jerks‘ when engaging. Easy to find neutral, every time.<br />

transmission end cover. The kit includes a hydraulic actuator that<br />

replaces the OEM ball and ramp in the Big Twin application. For<br />

the Sportster fitment there is a small salve master cylinder with<br />

a rod connecting to the stock OEM clutch cable coupling unit.<br />

These kits make the lever pull up to 40% easier then a stock<br />

Matched close-ratio transmission gear sets for Big Twin models<br />

from 36-E84. Each set is complete with the proper gears, shifter<br />

clutches, mainshaft, countershaft, countershaft bearings and all<br />

of the necessary snap rings and thrust washers. The shafts are<br />

polished at the spline and maindrive bushing area and include<br />

an O-ring groove and seals wherever necessary. Gears are<br />

honed and finish ground for precise engagement and maximum<br />

The OEM 34091-85 inner bearing race<br />

has been used on Big Twin since 85.<br />

The inner primary bearing rides on this<br />

race . By design, this race press-fits onto<br />

the transmission mainshaft. This system<br />

works fine for stock engines. 100 HP+<br />

engines will make this bearing walk on<br />

the mainshaft. If it walks inboard, it will<br />

damage the main drive gear seal and<br />

cause a transmission oil leak. If it walks<br />

outboard, it will cause a primary oil<br />

leak. The Baker high torque bearing kit<br />

eliminates this condition. Kit includes a<br />

precision honed bearing and seal.<br />

The stock ratchet pawl used from 80-00<br />

utilized a scissor spring that was well<br />

known for breaking. Each time an upshift<br />

or downshift is made the pawl spring<br />

is cycled. After many cycles, the spring<br />

breaks. The unfortunate side effect of<br />

this failure is the broken spring led going<br />

through the transmission gears and<br />

destroying the transmission. Any seasoned<br />

tech has seen this one. The Baker new<br />

ratchet pawl utilizes a rectangular crosssection<br />

spring like the 21st century Big<br />

Twins. Other improvement is the lever<br />

“beak” for overshift protection.<br />

Features a low profile lock-up billet pressure plate specifically<br />

designed to fit under the stock primary/derby cover. Increases<br />

the capacity of the stock clutch while keeping lever effort to a<br />

minimum. Ideal for stock to big inch motors! Bolt-on installation<br />

clutch basket will run true, preventing<br />

premature belt wear. The kit contains<br />

53 ‘52<strong>11</strong>’ steel bearings hardened for a<br />

lifetime of use, a tube of special grease, 3<br />

spring retainers and a special bearing seal.<br />
