INAUGURAL SESSION 9.30 to 10.30am
The Inaugural lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, Hon. Dr. Dakshesh Thakkar and joined by the guest of honor

Chairman-WIRC, CA Jay Chhaira, Vice-Chairman – WIRC, CA Shruti Shah, Chairperson – WICASA of
ICAI.
STUDENT SPEAKERS
The conference provided platform to as many as 16 students to present their papers on various Topics as
listed out. Speakers from all over India participated in the convention.
TECHNICAL SESSIONS
The Convention was divided into 4 technical Sessions so as to cover the topics required to be known to
become a leader in tomorrow’s world.
Session I : Auditing and Accounting Standards.
Session II : Direct Taxes.
CA Yagnesh Desai, from Mumbai, was the Session Chairman, and papers were presented
by students on Materiality and importance of Audit Evidence, Impairment of Assets,
Comparison & Contrast of Audit review and Compilation.
CA Ramesh Malpani, from Surat, was the Session Chairman, and papers were presented
by students on Practical Issues on Capital Gain, Practical Aspects of Survey under IT Act,
MAT v/s AMT.

Session III : Financial Management.
Dr. Aditya Shrinivas, from Mumbai, was the Session Chairman, and papers were presented
by students on Derivative Instruments, Private Equity- Scope and methodology, and FDI
leverage for Economy.
Session IV : Information Technology.
Dr. Mahendra Patel, from Mumbai, was the Session Chairman, and papers were presented
by students on Cyber Laws, Virtual World and Forensic Account using Information
Technology.
The convention also contained 4 special Session.
Session I : Interaction with Board of Studies.
SPECIAL SESSIONS
CA Nilesh Vikamsey, Chairman – BOS, was the Session Chairman with Mr. Rajesh
Bhalla Dy. Secretary BOS, CA Jay Chhaira Vice-Chairman – WIRC, CA Shruti Shah,
Chairperson – WICASA of ICAI. The students were able to clear their queries that related to
the studies, Course, Articleship in this Session.
Session II : Importance of Art of Communication.
CA Yagnesh Desai, was the Session Chairman. The students got to know the importance of
communication in the present world in this Session.
Session III : Defense & Civilians.
Session IV : Motivation.
Colonel T.K. Paul (Rtd.) and Colonel Charanjeet Singh Sarna (Rtd.), were the Session
Chairman. They bombarded the students on some civic Rights and duties of the Citizen of
India.
Smt. Ritaben Khatlawala and Mr. Rakeshbhai Khatlawala , were the Session Chairman.
The session coordinators made sure that the students would leave this hall fully motivated.
CULTURAL EXTRA-VEGANZA
At the end of First day, i.e. 17 th August, 2012 we had organized an event so as to unleash the culture of
India. As many as 170 CA Students had participated in the event. The event contained Dance, Drama,
Singing, Musical Instruments, and what not. It was a Magical Eve.

Dignitaries on the Dias CA P.C. Chaudhary, Chairman Surat Branch, CA Vijay Jagani Chairman –WICASA
Surat, CA Pragnesh Jagasheth, Vice-Chairman, CA Rajiv Chanda, Secretary, CA Hemant Jariwala MCM,
CA Rajiv Mardia, MCM, CA Hardik Patel, CA Mihir Thakkar. In the session All Jury have been appreciated
by Memento, The winners and Runners up of Quiz and Elocution Contest 2012 have been awarded and
Finally The Best Paper presenter and Runner Up have been declared and awarded. Further the session
imparted honor to all those Students Volunteers who have helped it turn into a Successful one with
Certificate of Appreciation. The Session ends with a Vote of thanks by Vice-Chairman, WICASA-Surat
branch.
