Perhaps data analytics and our online lives show us the same thing<br />

in terms <strong>of</strong> the self. Perhaps, we, too, are social particles and waves,<br />

with a reality as intricate and multifaceted as the world <strong>of</strong> atoms.<br />

If humans are so predictable, does that mean that we do not have free<br />

will? Are we just very complicated robots, or do we have free will but<br />

choose to use it in entirely uncreative ways? If researchers know that we<br />

are going to make a certain decision before we have even considered the<br />

question, are we really free to choose?<br />

Are we really individuals? Does the effectiveness <strong>of</strong> data analytics mean<br />

that we are just a part <strong>of</strong> a larger human environment that is embedded<br />

in a natural environment? Are we part <strong>of</strong> a bigger system, or are we our<br />

own entities? In the end, what is really real, the thing, the relationships,<br />

or the whole?<br />
