Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to welcoming you and your family to our school. This letter explains what we
have put in place to support your child on this exciting new journey.
Welcome Meeting
We will be holding our welcome meeting for parents/carers on Monday 20 th May at 6:30pm. This
meeting will be held in the school hall. During the meeting we will talk through the daily routine in
school, how we will support your child during this key transition, school meals, communication and
uniform. There will also be an opportunity to speak to staff, ask questions and complete some
necessary forms. Please email or call the school office to let us know if you will be attending.
Transitional Visit
New pupils are invited to spend time in their new classroom, with their new teachers, on the following
dates:
Tuesday 18 th June 9:30-11am
Monday 1 st July 1:15-2:45pm
Please drop off and collect from the main school entrance.
Half Days
In September, we begin with a transitional timetable. During that first week (Wednesday 4 th -Friday
6 th September), children will stay for lunch and finish at 1pm. This timetable is designed to help your
child to settle into the routine and ensure they are confident and comfortable within their new
environment. Please collect children from the office entrance.
Nursery Visits
Those children who attend Brereton Pre-School will be more familiar with the school and staff will
liaise closely with Mrs Edwards to ensure all necessary information has been passed across. If your
child attends another nursery, staff will contact them to discuss your child.
We will try to gather as much information about your child as we possibly can, in order to ensure the
provision in Reception matches the children’s interests and levels of ability.
Picnic
This year we will be hosting a picnic for families to attend on Saturday 13 th July at 11:30am. The picnic
will be held on the school field. Please note, this event is weather dependent.

App (school website). School staff will be posting stories, activities and information on these platforms
on a regular basis between now and September.
We appreciate that this can be an exciting but worrying time for parents, but we will do everything
we can to support you. Our EYFS staff are incredibly experienced and your child will be in very safe
hands. If you have any queries, worries or questions, however small, please do contact us and one of
the team will be happy to help.
