MEDA Gala
Each November,
MEDA hosts a blacktie
benefit dinner and
auction to celebrate
the success and
development of
e n t r e p r e n e u r s
of color. This
special evening
not only connects
a unique network of
business owners and
professionals, it also
serves as a critical
fundraiser to support
MEDA’s programs and
services.
We celebrated our 35th
anniversary with more
than 650 guests dancing to
a special evening of musical
history. Dance band, Synergy, made
its way through 35 years of hits, starting with Marvin
Gaye’s 1971 classic, What’s Going On.
We gave special thanks to our presenting sponsor,
Target, and our titanium sponsor, M&I Bank, who
helped make this event possible.
The Gala Committee chair, Kim Maher of Veit, led
the full committee through a year of hard work to
produce this wonderful event. The Gala provides
15 percent of MEDA’s annual operating revenue.
Our 2006 event hit new financial records.
