Etéreo, part of Auberge Resorts, sits on the Kanai complex;
a gated reserve of jungle foliage and dense mangroves,
protected to preserve the diverse flora and fauna of the
region. Combining natural stone, wood, and glass with elegant
decor, Etéreo creates stunning spaces against the backdrop of
the turquoise Caribbean Sea and lush greenery.
Each spacious guest suite overlooks the mangroves and out to the
sea with floor-to-ceiling windows. Decor has been incorporated
from local artisans, and the iconic carved wooden walls were
created by renowned artist Manuel Felguérez.
Sana Spa experiences commence with a ‘Cleanse’ pre-treatment
journey through the hydrotherapy facilities. Set your intention
at the beautiful Sana Spa portal, where large selenite crystals
adorn the image of a hummingbird traced in gold across the wall,
under a smooth domed ceiling. Guests are guided through the
spa, starting with a contrast shower using their signature cacao
and reishi mushroom soap, before proceeding to the eucalyptusscented
steam room and then to the clay room. Apply crystalinfused
white clay over the body, as it dries relax in the warm room
with heated tile seats before rinsing off, exfoliating with a sugar
scrub, and then applying ice over the body. Warm the muscles in
the sauna and enjoy a brief sound meditation in the circular sound
room before relaxing in the sensorial pool reminiscent of a cenote,
an opening to the underground river system typical in the region.
Continue on to the outdoor hydrotherapy area where males and
females can enjoy the facilities together, including a cold plunge
pool, hot jacuzzi, and warm pool with bubble beds and a variety of
jets for the shoulders, back, and legs.
The Obsidian and Jade Stone Massage incorporates obsidian
volcanic glass stones and jade crystals, both considered precious
and powerful by the Mayan people indigenous to the area. The
warmed smooth stones and expert massage therapy techniques
combine to create a deeply relaxing and therapeutic massage.
Sana Spa offers a range of energetic healing rituals and bodywork
therapy in addition to skin alchemy customized facials.
A daily agenda offers guests movement and fitness classes,
cooking lessons, art workshops, and wellness experiences
like sound therapy, meditations, cacao ceremonies, and tarot
workshops. The gong sound bath, held in the movement studio,
offers a deeply relaxing meditative journey as vibrations from this
powerful sacred instrument calm the body and mind. The Etéreo
fitness center is a tranquil space with glass walls looking out to the
surrounding natural beauty of the area, incorporating state-of-theart
fitness equipment.
