President’s message
Our March meeting was again attended by many members and guests. I’m so
happy to see how our members enjoy getting together.
Our newest members, Tim and Tracy Burnett were inducted and given their
membership bag of goodies. Sadly, Tracy was unable to attend, but Tim was there
to accept for them both. Welcome you two!
We have many activities filling up the calendar which is just great There should be
something of interest for everyone to participate in. It’s my opinion this is what
the club is all about. Enjoying our cars together with many new friends that we
may never have had the chance to meet otherwise.
Remember, if you know of something that would be a fun outing, don’t be shy.
Contact our VP of Activities, Gary Linsner, to check for open dates and get your
idea on our calendar. If this would be your first run, there are many other
members that can help you with the process. We now have a printed guideline for
runs, thanks to Jody and a committee of volunteers. This could be as simple as a
lunch or dinner run locally or as complex as a multiple day/night trip somewhere.
Your ideas are what makes the fun happen.
Remember, at the request of Club One, don’t arrive to our monthly meetings until
5 P.M. You should have time to socialize and order dinner before the meeting
starts. They use the room for many other events and want to have it cleaned and
ready for us.
The next meeting is April 15 th starting at 6:30 P.M.
Your President,
Lynne Henenfent

Our oldest granddaughter Audra received a fully paid scholarship at UCSB’s
Earth Science Master’s Program as well as housing. She was also asked to join a
team going to Uganda in June to collect samples from the field and teach locals
at a geology field work school. She is so smart and beautiful and we are so
proud. This information was shared to the group by the Son’s.
The Wards car is finally here and they have taken possession of it.
As we move into the spring our activity list grows. We are now looking ahead to the summer months,
mountains is possibilities. If you have a favorite place to escape the heat, invite your Corvette friends to
go with you.
Estrella Warbird Museum and Woodland Auto Display
Thursday April 4 and 5
Visit the collection of the Estrella Warbird Museum and Woodland Auto Display in Paso Robles. It was
three years ago when we last did this run. I have been asked to do it again! I'm hoping the newer
members can join us. We will be parking as a group on the airport grounds next to the aircraft on
display and have a 2 hour guided tour. It is home to a vast collection of aircraft, vehicles and
memorabilia. From jeeps, side arms, early year aircraft, fighter jets recently retired from active duty,
modern missiles, to artifacts of airplanes which made aviation history, you will find a unique collection
of aircraft and artifacts. The Woodland Automobile Display showcases vintage, classic, racing, and
historic vehicles.
After the guided tour we will be having a catered lunch with chicken and tri-tip on site. Water and tea is
included and vending machines are available for other drinks such as soda.
Departure time and location to be determined. We will have a pit stop at Reef City Gas/Store 7 miles
south of Kettleman City. You can make it a one day run and return to Fresno or follow me after the
museum to Cambria for Thursday night. We will be staying at the Sea Otter Inn on Moonstone Beach
Drive. Call the Inn at 805-927-5888 to book your room. I recommend you do this soon. I do not have a
group block, but be sure to ask for the 10% discount.
Cost for the museum entrance, tour, and lunch is $40 per person due by the March general meeting.
Make your checks payable to Central Valley Corvettes. I will email up to date information to those that
sign up for this run following our February and March general meetings.
