The new year brings a spring cleaning of the
office. Random pages of important notes that need
chronicling, magazine articles, planner entries,
reports…stuff to process. Things catch your eye.
It is astonishing to review distant past “newsletter”
volumes of the Knight Errant and see how far
we’ve come in strengthening the Foundation in
such a relatively short amount of time. Not only
have donations continued to increase overall,
but our donor base of engaged brothers continues
to grow. More recent photos reflect lots of
smiling faces engaged in fun alumni activities,
old friendships strengthening, and new friendships
being born. Your brotherhood doesn’t go
anywhere to hide post-grad; it just takes on a
new form with fresh opportunities to enjoy your
intrinsic fraternal benefits out in the adulting
world. It is, I believe, the most essential benefit
of being involved as an alumnus. “Grateful” is
the first word that comes to mind.
You will find our latest Annual Report in these
pages. A definitive upward trend reflects the work
and ardent support of a growing number of great
brothers. No rest during this glorious climb.
Borrowing some phraseology from my involvement
as a Scout leader, I’ll say that the peak we seek is
a noble one, where we vanquish challenges and
opportunity abounds. More fraternity programs
funded; more brothers supported. There will be
room at the top for everyone to enjoy the view.
In preparing for this issue, our fraternity leadership
announced that the upcoming 2024 Convention
experience just got a major upgrade to what
is likely our top-rated resort destination ever.

and links are included in these pages.

Stephen Blank Jr.’s journey is a testament to the power
of integrating Delta Chi’s core values into personal and
professional realms. His undergraduate experience at
East Stroudsburg University (ESU) was more than just
collegiate – it laid the groundwork for a life driven by
leadership, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
These values, honed within the fraternity, have propelled
Blank to significant achievements in the gaming
industry, illustrating that success in business is not
just about what you know but who you become along
the way. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer
of the Victoria Gate Casino in Leeds, England, United
Kingdom.
His professional ascent within the competitive gaming
sector is marked by strategic leadership and innovation.
The influence of Delta Chi’s principles on this journey
stands out – it is proof that teamwork, perseverance,
and ethical leadership can be powerful tools in navigating
the challenges of any industry. At the same
time, Blank’s narrative underscores the importance of
balance. His dedication to family and the active role he
plays in nurturing the next generation highlight that
success is multifaceted.
At the heart of Blank’s college journey was his pivotal
role in founding the ESU colony, a venture that embodied
his foresight, leadership, and unwavering commitment
to creating a legacy. Reflecting on those days, Blank
explained that Delta Chi was about more than bringing
a new organization to campus; it was about building a
foundation that would last far beyond his tenure at the
university. “It was important to match people’s abilities
with their roles. We placed the social guy on the social
side of the business and had the accountant manage
the finances,” Blank recalled. We were able to utilize
our resources very effectively to help the chapter really
take off.”

Values for Professional
Excellence and
Personal Fulfillment
Blank’s transition from collegiate life to a career in the
gaming industry was marked by strategic moves that
showcased his ability to leverage Delta Chi’s values in
a professional setting. “My life in terms of my career
has evolved in exactly the way it did with Delta Chi
by beginning something new – change management,
essentially. It’s the same process.” Blank observed the
connection between his Delta Chi experience to that of
his storied career, “Pretty much everything I did with
that founding group has dovetailed into my career.”
Stephen Blank’s journey into the gaming industry
began with a straightforward yet significant piece
of advice during his high school years: to ensure job
security by focusing on math or science. Heeding this
guidance, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Applied
Mathematics. This decision, along with his Delta Chi
involvement and an extensive mathematical portfolio,
ultimately secured him his first position at Harrah’s.
Strategic advancements have marked his professional
journey, and each role has been built upon the one
before. From Harrah’s, he moved to Mount Airy Casino
Resort, eventually becoming VP of Marketing, then to
a transformative role at Casino Miami Jai-Alai. Here,
as an equity partner, he turned the business into a
profitable venture within four years. Delta Chi played
a crucial role throughout Stephen’s career, especially
as he bought, sold, and managed casinos. “I applied
the same concepts with my group in Miami that I used
when founding my colony. You attribute the things you
learn along the way to helping you achieve the biggest
breaks in your life.”
His current career success is a direct result of his extensive
experience, vision, and innate ability to understand
the business intricately. His journey to becoming
a recognized leader in the gaming industry underscores

the value of a solid educational foundation and the professional and personal development
opportunities offered through Delta Chi connections. In addition to forging meaningful partnerships,
Blank serves as an independent professional consultant, contributing to industry
growth and innovation. His strategic business and industry leadership approach enables him
to navigate challenges and identify opportunities. Stephen’s significant achievements include
a key consultancy role in the UK, where he was instrumental in turning around a struggling
casino by strategically staffing and rebranding the establishment. His approach was measured
and inclusive, ensuring that key personnel were integrated into the vision for the casino,
fostering a sense of ownership and commitment to the collective success.
Central to Blank’s story is his profound commitment to family, a principle that has guided his
decisions and shaped his life. As a father and a husband, Blank’s devotion to his family is
underscored by the birth of his baby boy and the beginning of his daughter’s upcoming
kindergarten year. This balance between professional success and personal fulfillment exemplifies
his holistic approach to life, where family remains paramount.
Serving as a mentor and advisor to Delta Chi, Blank demonstrates his belief in giving back
and shaping the next generation of leaders. In his view, the most rewarding aspect of his
mentorship role within Delta Chi is watching these young men grow, applying the lessons
learned, and succeeding.
As a foundation for sustaining success, Blank emphasizes the importance of leveraging the
Delta Chi experience for current and future fraternity members. He would tell incoming
members, “In addition to getting real-world experience, Delta Chi members have a network
to count on. It’s not always what you know; it’s who you know. Participating in Delta Chi’s
Conventions, Regional Conferences, and Dale Carnegie programs and utilizing Delta Chi’s
resources can help you formulate a plan and direction to better yourself.” When asked about
staying motivated to be involved with Delta Chi, Blank said he has a “pretty simple” answer.
“I enjoy watching the young members grow to become men, husbands, and fathers and seeing
their impact on the world when they graduate. I enjoy being there to help them whenever they
have a need.”
Blank’s commitment to Delta Chi extends beyond mentorship and leadership. He profoundly
believes in the value of giving back, particularly through his role as a Delta Chi Educational
Foundation donor, recently achieving the Sir Edward Coke lifetime giving level. His insights on
philanthropy reflect a deep understanding of how financial support can fuel the fraternity’s
mission and empower its members.
Taking part in the foundation’s programs and initiatives benefits the fraternity’s growth
and is essential for its members’ personal development. Blank donates to the foundation to
ensure future members have access to the same, if not better, opportunities for leadership and
personal development that he did. Investing in the foundation is investing in society’s future
leaders, demonstrating a belief in the fraternity’s ability to shape individuals who will become
meaningful contributors across many fields. He also sees his donations as a way of repaying
the benefits he received as an undergraduate member of Delta Chi. The goal is to ensure
Delta Chi continues to provide valuable experiences, mentorship and support to its members
and to articulate a vision for continuous improvement and sustainability by partnering with
its alumni.
Blank’s support of the foundation is driven by a sense of gratitude and responsibility. This
perspective highlights his commitment to philanthropy and reflects his understanding of
what it takes to sustain and enhance the fraternity’s impact over time. He believes in the
value of fraternity and the commitment to ensuring its longevity and relevance in the future.
His financial contributions, coupled with his active involvement, stand as a testament to the
lasting impact that Delta Chi has had on his life and his determination to ensure that others
can benefit similarly.
Stephen’s path from Delta Chi to the boardrooms of the gaming industry serves as a compelling
blueprint for others. It shows that the values cultivated in Delta Chi can be a solid
foundation for professional success and personal fulfillment. His journey is a clear message:
embracing and applying fraternity values is empowerment to excel in all areas of life,
becoming a better professional and a better person overall.

A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
This year marks 70 years of assisting our brothers with their
financial needs and providing funding that supports Delta
Chi’s leadership and educational programs. This impact has
been made possible by our many brothers who believe in and
uphold one of Delta Chi’s core values – to assist the acquisition
of a sound education. Our Fraternity extends education
beyond the classroom. It provides in-person and virtual
programming that expands our members’ interpersonal and
leadership skills that can be used in and outside their chapter.
Assisting in the acquisition of a sound education means
providing our brothers with the opportunity to get a degree
while also benefiting from Delta Chi’s brotherhood and fraternity
experience. Delta Chi’s membership continues to grow
yearly, demonstrating that young men seek what our Fraternity
has to offer. While this is excellent news for our Fraternity,
the landscape for a college student is constantly evolving. The
Fraternity has stepped up to meet these demands by offering
new programs such as the Regional Leadership Academies
(formally known as RLC) and Dale Carnegie Scholars.
Your donations to the Delta Chi Educational Foundation
support these programs, making them more accessible for
our brothers. Brothers who attend these programs are
better equipped to provide leadership to their local chapters,
making the Delta Chi experience more meaningful for the
chapter brothers.
We hope you will be able to join us in celebrating Delta Chi
and learning more about the Fraternity’s initiatives this summer
during the 63rd International Convention in Miami, FL.

Impact Report: Leadership
From Freshman to Industry Leader:
The Delta Chi Journey of Zac Cole
An alumnus, former Headquarters staff member, and volunteer,
Zac Cole, Northern Illinois `03, shines as a beacon of Delta Chi
pride. His journey from an undergraduate to a transformational
tech practitioner, all while maintaining a deep-rooted connection
with Delta Chi, is not just a story of individual triumph but
a testament to the fraternity’s impact on shaping leaders.
Zac’s college days at Northern Illinois were filled with the typical
uncertainties of a freshman. However, his decision to join
Delta Chi wasn’t just about embracing the fraternal life; it was
about finding a family away from home and a platform to hone
his leadership skills. “My ‘joining a Fraternity’ story is pretty
typical,” Zac recalls, “but what made Delta Chi stand out was
the sense of belonging and the opportunities to grow.”
Throughout his time in Delta Chi, Zac held eight positions
ranging from philanthropy chairman to “E”, showcasing his
multifaceted leadership capabilities. His dedication didn’t stop
at organizational roles; he was instrumental in spearheading
initiatives that deeply impacted the community, such as the
innovative canned goods drive that brought the chapter together
for a cause beyond its walls.
“In school, I remember organizing a Trick or Treat for canned
goods on and around campus. When dropping the boxes off at
the food pantry, the staff was floored at the amount of canned
goods we were able to collect. That was the first time I remember
feeling gratification from doing something that benefited
the community at large.”
“One of my prouder moments was when the chapter worked with
alumni to acquire a chapter house. There was a tremendous
amount of work to be done to get the house ready for move-in,
and it was an educational moment for me to be part of it. While
serving as the campus contact to organize repairs and renovation,
I gained invaluable practical experience in leading others,
inspiring a vision, and motivating others.”

Post-graduation, Zac’s thirst for growth led him
down a path of continuous learning and professional
development. “I was lucky to work on Delta Chi staff
from 2008-2016. I spoke to Tim Ulrich, Colorado
State ‘04, and Mark Schramka, Northwestern, and
asked about joining Headquarters’ staff. Tim said he
would love for me to have that experience, and Mark
echoed that sentiment in separate conversations.
While on staff, I coordinated three Conventions and
six “A”s’ Academies. I made 51 campus visits, including
Lehigh University, where I met my partner,
Michelle. I’ll forever be grateful to Ray Galbreth,
Missouri ’69, for his mentorship and willingness to
educate and coach in my personal and professional
development.”
Zac’s career trajectory saw him transitioning from
IT and marketing roles to becoming a driving force
in digital transformation and capability enablement
at Mars Wrigley. “My role encompasses everything
in the software development lifecycle, as well as two
passion areas in design thinking and agile principles,
reflecting the diverse skill set I began developing
with Delta Chi,” Zac explains.
Yet, it’s not just his professional life where Zac embodies
the Delta Chi spirit of leadership and service.
He has passionately contributed to various charitable
causes, notably running the Chicago Marathon as
a charity runner for the V Foundation, where he
proudly carried the Delta Chi flag across the finish
line and provided matching gifts to the Delta Chi
Educational Foundation. “Merging two passion areas
together was a profound moment for me,” he shares,
emphasizing the fraternity’s enduring influence on
his commitment to making a difference.
Zac’s story is a powerful reminder of how fraternity
life can shape one’s future, instilling values of leadership,
brotherhood, and service that last a lifetime.
His journey from the halls of Northern Illinois to
making significant strides in the professional world,
all while living Delta Chi’s values, is a narrative that
inspires and motivates.
As we celebrate Zac Cole’s achievements and the
indelible mark he’s left on his fraternity and the
community at large, his story is a testament to the
transformative power of brotherhood. It’s a narrative
that doesn’t just highlight the success of one individual
but underscores Delta Chi’s collective spirit in
nurturing leaders who make a difference in the world.

Founders’ Day of Giving. These individuals step up
to assist the Delta Chi Educational Foundation
in making the year’s largest impact on Delta Chi.
Chapter Champions are the liaisons during
Founders Day of Giving, inspiring their local
chapter brothers to assist Delta Chi in its
acquisition of a sound education. This is a
fun way to engage with your brothers and
compete against other chapters throughout
North America. We provide you with training
and resources to assist us on Founders’ Day,
October 13. Your responsibilities include
making social media posts and sending emails
and text messages to your local chapter brothers.

Investing in Excellence: Transformative
Leadership through Delta Chi’s
Dale Carnegie Scholars Program
Within the ever-changing landscape of the Fraternity, where
bonds of brotherhood are woven, Delta Chi emerges as a trailblazer,
continuously expanding the horizons of its members
through innovative programs. One transformative initiative
has left an indelible mark on the Fraternity and has become a
pillar of Delta Chi’s resume-driven experience: the Delta Chi
Dale Carnegie (DXDC) Scholars program. As of January 2024,
this program has become Delta Chi’s hub of professional
development, yielding 90 new graduates in 2024 during the
four Regional Leadership Academy (RLA) events across North
America and 61 graduates in spring 2023. Over two years, the
program has nurtured more than 150 graduates, setting a new
standard for holistic personal and professional growth.
The genesis of the Delta Chi Dale Carnegie Scholars Program
can be traced to a visionary partnership between Delta Chi
and Dale Carnegie Training, a globally renowned leader in
leadership development. The underlying motivation was clear:
to offer Delta Chi members the same caliber of coaching that
Fortune 500 companies invest in, providing an edge in college
and equipping them with skills extending far beyond their
academic years. The collaboration with Dale Carnegie Training
has positioned Delta Chi as the premier fraternal partner,
reflecting a commitment to excellence and an unwavering
dedication to the development of “Men of Action.”
The program, not your typical leadership course, unfolds as
a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and the transformation
of young men into leaders with the ability to inspire
change. In spring 2023, the inaugural class commenced with
an in-person session at RLCs, followed by seven virtual workshops
led by Dale Carnegie’s expert trainers. Topics ranged
from interpersonal competence to the power of storytelling,
offering practical skills applicable to everyday life.
Participants in the Delta Chi Dale Carnegie Scholars Program
echo sentiments of profound personal and professional development.
The emphasis on stepping out of comfort zones is a
recurrent theme, fostering growth beyond the boundaries of
familiarity. The program extends its reach beyond personal
development, imparting tools to strengthen relationships
within the Fraternity. Improved communication skills empower
scholars to articulate thoughts clearly, not only in personal
interactions but also in academic and professional contexts.
Jack O’Donnell (‘24) from the West Chester Chapter secured an
internship, emphasizing the impact on communication skills,
“Because of this experience, I learned how to get my ideas
clear and concise.”
Leadership and engagement emerge as central tenets instilled
in the scholars. They learn not only to actively engage with
peers but also to drive productive outcomes within their
chapters. This newfound ability to encourage others to make
sound decisions fosters unity and camaraderie among fellow
Delta Chis. DXDC transcends academic and fraternal realms,
leaving a profound impact on the participants’ personal lives.
Scholars gain essential tools for managing stress effectively,
influencing their approach to challenges in academic pursuits
and fraternity activities.
At the program’s pinnacle lies the recognition of excellence
through the election of premier scholars known as the Highest
Achievement Award winners. These winners, chosen through
peer voting, embody Dale Carnegie’s principles, showcasing
significant personal development, careful preparation, and leadership
within the class. Of the 150 scholars who completed the
full program in 2023 and 2024, 11 Highest Achievement Award
(HAA) winners were celebrated for their outstanding success:

Upon completing the program, all scholars receive a Dale
Carnegie Course Certification, akin to the one proudly displayed
by Warren Buffett in his office. In addition, scholars receive
an official Dale Carnegie Scholars lapel pin, a Certificate from
the Delta Chi International Fraternity, access to the official
LinkedIn Badge from Dale Carnegie, and the opportunity to
retrieve their course transcript from the University of Central
Missouri, earning them three college credits toward their
undergraduate degrees.

The partnership between Delta Chi and Dale Carnegie is not merely a collaboration; it is a manifestation of the Fraternity’s
commitment to providing lasting advantages to its members. In addition to the DXDC Scholars Program, Delta Chi is also investing
in our alumni members through this partnership. Each year, the Fraternity will host up to four virtual workshops all members
can attend. The majority of these workshops provide alumni an opportunity to participate in high-level professional development
seminars at no additional cost through Dale Carnegie. The majority of these workshops are accredited with continuing education
credits for professional certification maintenance and truly elevate the Delta Chi membership experience regardless of membership
status. In addition, alumni have access to discounted Dale Carnegie training courses. More information on this
can be found on the Delta Chi website.
For Delta Chi and the entire fraternal community, the collaboration with Dale Carnegie and the success of the partnership signifies
more than individual accomplishments; it represents a dedication to fostering all Delta Chi members, who, through self-improvement,
can make a profound difference in our world.

several DCEF events. All members and guests are welcome
to sit in on the Board of Directors meeting. Additionally,
Voting Members can participate and vote for our Executive
Committee members during the Annual Membership Meeting.
This Convention will mark the DCEF’s 6th Annual Trustee
Society Experience, an event that enhances the Convention
experience and unites our Trustees for an unforgettable
time. I hope you’ll join us in making memories during this
fun-filled event. The Trustee Experience is free for 2023 and
2024 Trustee Society members. We will provide more details
