Unpacking conflict<br />

What lies beneath?<br />

By unpacking and talking about conflict, you will<br />

generate a new awareness. You will ‘out’ some new<br />

perspectives and learn new lessons. This will help you<br />

be a better group going forward.<br />

We will share with you some of the organisational<br />

causes of conflict and their relationship to and with<br />

each other.<br />

Scarcity & abundance<br />

Our stress response to conflict<br />

Understand how a scarcity or abundance of anything<br />

can both be sources of conflict – whether this be time<br />

or resources.<br />

As our brain prepares the body for an emergency<br />

response, our bodies are flooded with cortisol and<br />

adrenaline – do we fight or freeze?<br />

Levels of conflict<br />

Holding crucial conversations<br />

By understanding the 5 levels of conflict one can<br />

identify where you are and then prepare for what<br />

comes next. This greater insight improves your<br />

prospects in resolving any conflict more effectively.<br />

A necessary competency in navigating your way<br />

through opposing viewpoints and strong emotions.<br />

When implemented properly, contracting diffuses<br />

conflicts related to Core Beliefs. It allows for healthy<br />

disagreements and creates a safe space for discord,<br />

discussion and resolution to take place. When a<br />

common goal is agreed to and this system is in place<br />

it shifts the attention away from conflict and helps<br />

redirect to the goal.<br />
