The Silent Pool Distillery is the home of Silent Pool Gin in the Surrey
Hills. Its beautiful rural location inspires every aspect of the award
winning gin from the botanicals used during distillation, to the teal
blue colour of the bottle. You can explore by taking a deep dive into the
world of Silent Pool Gin on a distillery tour. Discover the unique four
stage distillation process, and the botanicals that make this gin so special.
We’re tempted by the distillery G&Tea Party with its delightful gin-themed
twist on a classic afternoon tea – you can book various dates, mainly
on Sundays, via their website. The fabulous Bee Keeping Experience
focuses on the local bees that make the honey for Silent Pool Gin (bee
keeper suits are provided!) and takes place once a month on a Friday.
There’s also an Aroma Experience plus an Artisan Tasting
Day which is a collaboration with Silent Pool neighbours
Albury Organic Vineyard and Mandira’s Kitchen. When
you visit don’t miss the delightful Pool Bar with
terrace overlooking the pool, open April-
September, weekend daytimes.

Green-fingered readers will be thrilled
to hear that The Garden Show is
returning to the lovely Firle Place
near Lewes from 19-21 April. There
will be all sorts on offer including
expert advice and free talks, over 200
stalls of plants and gardenware. While
you pick up blooms to perk up your
garden your family will have plenty to
keep them entertained including face
painting, juggling, a toddler funfair,
treasure hunts and the Huxley birds
of prey. The event is in support of
the fantastic Hands of Hope charity
(hohcharity.co.uk) – enabling people
and communities to lead healthier
and happier lives by connecting them
to nature and each other. The show
opens from 10am until 5pm each day.

South East Open Studios
returns in 2024 for the whole
of June. Stretching through the Kent
and East Sussex countryside, the event
not only helps to build artists’ profiles in
the wider arts arena but also puts the
South East on the map as a hub of
creativity. Artists will open their
studio doors, hold collaborative
shows and showcase their work to
