The Brogdale Collections Charity are hosting lots
of family-friendly festivals and events including the
tempting Japanese Hanami Blossom Day on Saturday
13 April and a bee safari on Tuesday 28 May. There are
also cherry picking tours and PYO, Outdoor Cooking
and Juicing Workshops plus a Cider Festival later in the

exclusive access to the orchards year-round with an
Orchard Pass and join their knowledgeable tour guides
to learn the history and heritage and taste the fruit,
you’ll witness the changes throughout the seasons
from blossom in April, through to cherries,
plums, apples and pears.

Work
If you’re looking for a bank holiday outing head to
Weald of Kent Country Craft Show at Penshurst Place
on 4 to 6 May for artisan shopping, speciality street
food, entertainment, craft demos, live music and more.
Explore over 150 craft stalls and make the most of the
delicious eats and treats from the renowned food and
drink hall. There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained
with falconry displays, traditional children’s rids and
laser clay pigeon too. Kids go free and there’s free
parking and an early bird discount. The show opens
daily between 10am and 5pm.

that Maidstone’s Kentish Lady River
Boat is open for the season again, as of 29
March. Choose from a 1 hour trip along the lovely
Medway, 3 hour lunch or supper cruises or a river trip
to the magnificent Allington Castle (pictured right).
