In Our Own Voices, Inc. is celebrating another year of
uplifting and empowering LGBTQIA+ Black, Indigenous, and
People of Color (BIPOC) communities in New York’s Capital
Region and beyond.
We are proud to be one of the oldest LGBTQIA+
organizations serving BIPOC communities in the nation. We
have grown from small, grassroots beginnings into serving
over 600,000 individuals both locally and nationally.
Through our programs and services, we encourage
community members to strengthen their voices, become
bolder leaders, and live authentically. We are broadening
our impact this year, and we hope you can join us.

2024 AWARDS
The awards ceremony is a very special component of Jazz in July. It is the
organization’s way of recognizing individuals and organizations dedicated to
creating a safer and more inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities.
Up and Coming Award
The Up and Coming Award is given to an Individual or Organization who is
new to working with and supporting LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities, and shows
promise and great impact in years to come.
friend of the family award
The Friend of the Family award is given to an Individual or Organization that has
visible evidence of working with and supporting LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities,
as fellow LGBTQIA+ BIPOC or as allies to the community.
Ken Screven Trailblazer Award
The Ken Screven Trailblazer Award is given to an outstanding Individual or
Organization who has made a great contribution to the LGBTQIA+ BIPOC
community and helped “blaze a trail” for the next generation.
The JASÁN M. WARD LGBTQIA+ Community Advocacy Award
The Jasán M. Ward Community Advocacy Award is given to an Individual or
Organization that is committed to creating change in LGBTQIA+ BIPOC communities.

PRogram ads
Space is available in the program guide for Jazz in July to place advertisements,
congratulatory announcements, or other notices. The program guide is read by over
200 guests at Jazz in July, and is used throughout the year to promote the event. By
placing an ad in the program, you are showing your support of In Our Own Voices,
Inc. and the honorees’ commitment to creating change in our community.
ad specifications
• All program ads should be submitted no later than
Monday, June 17, 2024. Any ads submitted after
the deadline are not guaranteed an ad in the printed
booklet.
• Ads that do not follow the exact ad specifications may
have part of the image cut off. If your ad does not
follow specifications, IOOV design staff may make any
necessary changes.
• Ads can be submitted in the following formats: Adobe
Acrobat PDF, JPEG, or PNG. We do not accept Microsoft
Word, PowerPoint, or Publisher files.
• All graphics and fonts should be embedded, sent with
the file, or converted to outlines.
• Ads will be printed in color, and must include a full
border. Ads lacking a border will have one added by the
IOOV design staff.
• All back cover, inside front cover, and inside back
cover ads are considered full pages for sizing
purposes.
• Text-based ad copy will be formatted into the ad
space and copied exactly as received.
• Ads are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
• In Our Own Voices, inc. reserves the right to final
approval and editing of ad copy.
