All are welcome. John Giannotti is best known in Haddonfield as the sculptor of Haddy, the downtown dinosaur. More widely, he is known as professor emeritus at Rutgers University, where he served as Fine Arts chair in Camden and director of Junior Year Abroad in Italy. John Giannotti’s paintings and sculptures are in public and private collections worldwide, including bronze monuments of Madame Curie and Walt Whitman at Soka University in Japan. Castings of Walt Whitman also are installed in the cities of the poet’s birth and death: Huntington NY and Camden. In addition to Haddy, John has donated his services to create several works locally, including The Little Artist sculpture at Tatem School, the Rosie Hymerling mural at Tatem, and The Last Buttonwood relief painting at the Public Library. He has served as a consultant and board member for the Markeim and the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust. Keara Giannotti is a naturalist and the founder/ director of Camp Creek Run, a nonprofit 50-acre camp and nature preserve in Marlton, dedicated to connecting children with the natural world. As an environmental educator, she embraces nature study as both a science and an art form. Her goal with nature photography is not only to capture the beauty of the subject, but to create composed, descriptive pictures that document intimate, macro details of plants, animals, and fungi to be used as reference to deepen her understanding, and share it with others. Music at the reception will be provided by Reasonable Volume (Shandon Willey and Donte Goldston). The show – titled “Generations: A Father/ Daughter Exhibition” – will run thru Fri Apr 12.
