Parkstad Limburg stadium in Kerkrade.
The Parkstad Limburg stadium in Kerkrade is Dutch
football club Roda JC's home stadium and has 19,979
seats, 2,500 business seats and 24 skyboxes.
The challenge
For this project the big challenge was placing the boiler in the
stadium. Because the ELCO TRIGON® XXL is easily dismantled into
smaller components, transporting and installing it in the boiler room
was possible. The integral cargo wheels made manoeuvring and
positioning the boilers on site easier.

The ELCO solution
The system has now been running as
expected for some time: Fault-free
and significantly reducing natural gas
consumption.
Thanks to the low-water combustion
technology, in which the heat exchanger
operates with a minimum amount of
water, the warm-up time is fast. In fact, the
TRIGON® XXL EVO needs only 30 seconds
to reach room temperature.

Comment
During the construction of the stadium, the boilers were lifted inside.
This was only made possible due to the boiler's ability to be
dismantled and then reassembled once on site. The end result
was a high quality, energy efficient heating system in a cascade
arrangement. The new boilers are responsible for powering the
stadium's pitch heating system, the hot water for the showers and
swimming pool, plus heating for the offices and public lounges.
TRIGON® XXL condensing boilers offer top
performance and can reach outputs up to
2 MW, thanks to a unique design. When
mounted in cascade, the TRIGON® XXL
boilers can reach a total output of 32 MW.
