Globalworth Campus is the largest office park in Romania,<br />

featuring three highly technical and environmentally friendly<br />

Class "A" office towers. It is establishing itself as a top<br />

business destination in Romania, one of Bucharest's largest<br />

conference centres and a dedicated commercial area.<br />

The challenge<br />

Globalworth Campus is the biggest Class “A” office complex<br />

in Romania and includes three A-class office buildings housing<br />

extensive office spaces, retail outlets and various other facilities<br />

spanning a rentable area of over 92,000m 2 . The park was built to offer<br />

a complete work experience.<br />

Comment<br />

By utilising the low water content technology in the <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers,<br />

the compact and lightweight units were able to meet the demanding<br />

requirements of this complex commercial installation. Also, the<br />

energy-saving performance of the solution implemented for the<br />

Globalworth Office Buildings Park provided customer satisfaction.<br />

This project will become a reference case for energy saving<br />

transformation in the office sector.<br />

Office development gains sustainability<br />

boost thanks to <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers.<br />

The Bridge is an office development spanning<br />

aproximately 79,500m 2 , consisting of two buildings<br />

that were constructed in separate phases. The Bridge<br />

incorporates a number of sustainable design features,<br />

including a four-pipe fan coil HVAC system, which<br />

allowed the development to achieve LEED-CS<br />

Platinum certification.<br />

The challenge<br />

The project required six boilers fitted in cascade to provide a total<br />

output of 7,000kW. As the <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers each use a stainless steel<br />

heat exchanger, the equipment offers high levels of durability and<br />

reliability, perfect for such an intense commercial application.<br />

Comment<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong> Heating Solutions supported the project from beginning<br />

to end, from the initial system designs through to the delivery<br />

and commissioning of boilers, ensuring everything ran smoothly<br />

throughout. The TRIGON® XXL units installed at The Bridge Office<br />

Buildings are compatible with common building management<br />

system protocols - and use the <strong>ELCO</strong> Commercial Gateway for a<br />

seamless connection.<br />

Taking it to the roof: <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers<br />

installed in London’s newest landmark<br />

building.<br />

The City of London is the historic centre of the capital, as<br />

well as the international hub for financial services, including<br />

insurance, commodities trading and investment. On a prime<br />

corner of the ‘Square Mile’, a striking new 40-storey office<br />

tower has risen from 100 Bishopsgate and, at the heart of<br />

the 900,000 sqft building, lies six TRIGON® XXL EVO boilers<br />

from <strong>ELCO</strong> Heating Solutions.<br />

Background<br />

The owners of the tower, Brookfield Properties, targeted the highest<br />

standards of energy efficiency, productivity and comfort for its<br />

occupiers. As a result, environmentally conscious systems and<br />

materials have been included within the building’s design to maximise<br />

sustainability and reduce the carbon footprint over its lifetime.<br />

Central to these targets was employing a heating and hot water system<br />

that utilised the latest high efficiency technology and offered extremely<br />

low NOx emissions. These were key factors in the specification of<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong>’s TRIGON® XXL EVO boilers, which have gross efficiencies of up<br />

to 95.9% and ultra-low NOx emissions of just 20mg/kWh (Gross Calorific<br />

Value) – providing extremely cost-effective running costs.<br />

The six commercial boilers, which each have an output of 1.7 MW, are<br />

providing efficient heating and hot water to all 36 office floors and are<br />

housed on a purposely designed rooftop plantroom. The location also<br />

lent itself well to the boilers’ lightweight modular construction and low<br />

water content.<br />

The units were transported to the rooftop plant room using a crane.<br />

Once operational, their low water content kept the overall weight to a<br />

minimum, removing the need for any additional reinforcing of the floor.<br />

water-cooled cold flame burner. This is combined with<br />

an optimised combustion system, plus a stainless steel<br />

heat exchanger, to provide a reliable and robust lifetime<br />

performance.<br />

Another major benefit of the TRIGON® XXL is its low water<br />

content design, which ensures it can respond rapidly to<br />

today’s complex heating systems, which often combine<br />

multiple heat sources. This design also means the boiler<br />

has a small footprint and lightweight construction, allowing<br />

it to be utilised in a wide range of commercial applications.<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong> delivers premium upgrade to<br />

office refurb.<br />

As part of a major upgrade, <strong>ELCO</strong> Heating Solutions has<br />

supplied 15 TRIGON® XL 570kW boilers to 10 Upper Bank<br />

Street in Canary Wharf. The new compact and highly efficient<br />

gas condensing boilers have replaced 21 ageing units.<br />

The challenge<br />

Comprising 30 occupied floors, four basement floors, special function<br />

suites, as well as a gym, swimming pool and auditorium – all spanning<br />

over 1 million sq. ft. – 10 Upper Bank Street required a modern, reliable<br />

and high performance heating system to cope with the fluctuating<br />

demands of the building.<br />

Comment<br />

The refurbishment of the plant rooms was managed by the Projects<br />

Department of Engie. Commenting on the decision to choose <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

boilers, Project Manager, Tim Mardell, said: “We looked at a few products<br />

and narrowed it down to three, but it soon became clear that <strong>ELCO</strong>’s units<br />

were the preferred option for a numbers of reasons. Firstly, their ability<br />

to be disassembled into component parts allowed easy access in the<br />

restricted plant rooms. Secondly, the boilers’ performance easily satisfied<br />

several green issues for the project and, finally, the overall customer care<br />

offered was excellent.”<br />

M&E consultants for the project were THD Consulting Engineers. Chris<br />

Glover, Director, said: “This was an ambitious project that required a<br />

carefully designed, high quality heating system. The <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers were<br />

chosen for a number of reasons, but one of the most important was<br />

their high levels of sustainability. I was really impressed with their overall<br />

performance, as well as the extremely low NOx levels on offer, so I will<br />

certainly be considering them for other projects.”<br />

To fulfil the system requirements, <strong>ELCO</strong>’s floor standing units<br />

were installed over three floors; four boilers on the 31st level,<br />

and an additional 11 divided between the fifth and sixth. <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

also ensured hassle free integration to the building management<br />

system, by utilising the <strong>ELCO</strong> Commercial Gateway to allow<br />

communication via BACnet protocol.<br />

The challenge<br />

The biggest challenge during the whole project was to install the<br />

most optimal boilers within the narrow dimensions of the plant<br />

rooms. As it was a large project, the problem arose that not enough<br />

space was provided for the boiler houses. A lot of space was taken up<br />

by parking and other rooms beneath the buildings.<br />

Comment<br />

Dominik Szenderák, project leader, said: "Based on my personal<br />

experience, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit all<br />

the boiler houses, and it was a pleasure to see how much could<br />

be achieved within so little space. Talking to the contractors, I was<br />

pleased to hear that they were also impressed with how compact the<br />

appliances were and how this made the construction process much<br />

Na Moskovskom is a new residential complex that is<br />

currently under construction. The complex will consist of 10<br />

buildings which will be built in two stages. Rooftop boiler<br />

plant rooms will be used to supply the buildings with heat.<br />

The challenge<br />

When selecting boilers for use on the roof of residential buildings, it<br />

is important to consider their noise levels, weight and dimensions,<br />

as well as ease of maintenance and replacement. <strong>ELCO</strong> THISION® L<br />

PLUS wall hung boilers meet all these requirements.<br />

Comment<br />

For this project, we suggested a cascade installation of our<br />

THISION® L PLUS boilers. With this product, <strong>ELCO</strong> offers the most<br />

powerful wall hung boiler on the market, allowing less boilers to be<br />

used while providing the same levels of power compared to other<br />

manufacturers. As all maintenance is conducted from the front of<br />

the boilers, they do not require a lot of space. This, combined with<br />

small boiler dimensions, allows the THISION® L PLUS to be installed<br />

in the most compact boiler plant rooms. In addition, thanks to their<br />

fully insulated frames, these boilers produce very low levels of noise,<br />

so their operation will not disturb or interfere with the comfort of the<br />

occupants.<br />

At the moment two boiler plant rooms are<br />

finished. In one boiler plant room there<br />

is a cascade of five THISION® L PLUS 200<br />

boilers installed in line and in the other<br />

there is a cascade of eight THISION® L PLUS<br />

200 boilers installed back to back. <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

connection kits with headers and hydraulic<br />

separator were used for quick and easy<br />

The challenge<br />

When the Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa multi-residential property<br />

needed an upgrade for its ageing heating system, the THISION®<br />

L PLUS wall mounted boiler from <strong>ELCO</strong> was specified. The boilers<br />

needed to reduce running costs, as well as enhance long term<br />

reliability. Plus, with a restricted plant room, it was important to utilise<br />

units that delivered a high output in a small footprint, which is a key<br />

feature of the THISION® L PLUS units.<br />

Comment<br />

Following a period of failures from competitor products, which<br />

caused high repair costs, SM Grodzisk Wielkopolski decided to look<br />

for an alternative supplier of heating equipment. <strong>ELCO</strong> products<br />

were identified as an ideal solution, as they could provide the highest<br />

possible efficiencies and excellent levels of reliability. Furthermore,<br />

with <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers supplied extensive warranty periods, the boilers<br />

perfectly matched the requirements of the project.<br />

The investor puts very high demands on the installed devices, but<br />

also puts great emphasis on after-sales standards (maintenance<br />

service). Elco boilers fit perfectly into such high requirements as<br />

reliable devices with high efficiency and qualified service crew.<br />

The THISION® L PLUS is the most powerful wall<br />

hung boiler on the market, capable of achieving<br />

outputs as high as 200kW (or an impressive<br />

1.6 MW when fitted in cascade). When fitted in<br />

cascade, models have a low installation height<br />

of just 1.7m, while they offer the smallest, most<br />

compact footprint (in terms of width). Up to<br />

eight boilers can be fitted in cascade, either inline<br />

or back to back.<br />

Speed was the main priority, as the previous heating system had to<br />

be replaced quickly due to failure and repair proved impossible. It<br />

was vital to get a new system fitted to ensure residents did not go<br />

without heating and hot water.<br />

Comment<br />

As the old boilers failed during the coldest period of the year and<br />

the holidays were approaching, the care centre had to act quickly<br />

in sourcing and installing a replacement heating system.<br />

Thanks to <strong>ELCO</strong>, the new TRIGON® XL boilers were successfully<br />

installed in just two days.<br />

The TRIGON® XL incorporates the finest engineering and<br />

The challenge<br />

Initially, traditional fire-tube boilers were considered for this project<br />

but after the construction company learned about the advantages<br />

of modern boilers, they decided to choose <strong>ELCO</strong>. Five TRIGON®<br />

XXL SE 1900 boilers with a total output of 9.2 MWt were installed in<br />

a standalone boiler plant room that will provide heating and DHW<br />

for the whole residential complex. This is the most powerful project<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong> has been involved with in Russia, as the company's boilers are<br />

used mostly for rooftop installations, as opposed to the standalone<br />

plant room in this application.<br />

Comment<br />

During construction of the complex, much attention was paid to<br />

environment legislation. <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers are fully compliant with this,<br />

as they meet the highest requirements regarding emission levels.<br />

At first, the boilers were working on LPG before they were then<br />

converted to natural gas without any additional accessories. <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

TRIGON® XXL SE boilers have a 1:4 modulation ratio which will allow<br />

them to operate in optimal mode and maintain power according to<br />

actual heat load - even during the initial phase, when only a small<br />

number of houses have been built and occupied.<br />

problem for modern residential complex.<br />

Mercato is a modern residential complex that consists of<br />

three 17-storey buildings with penthouses on top. From the<br />

windows of the apartments, there is a beautiful view of the<br />

sea and mountains. On the grounds of the complex there is<br />

a playground and sports ground, as well as a heated pool.<br />

The challenge<br />

The first concept for heat supply for this project was a standalone<br />

boiler plant room with traditional fire-tube boilers located about<br />

20m from the buildings. Due to the high emissions produced by<br />

this type of boiler, a high chimney was required. This would have<br />

needed a horizontal pipe to have been installed from the boiler<br />

house to one of the buildings, then a high chimney mounted<br />

on its facade. The total length of flue pipe would need to be<br />

approximately 80m. Obviously, such a chimney installation was quite<br />

costly - and, aside from that, it would also ruin the visual appeal of<br />

the complex, as the flue pipe would be installed close to playground<br />

and even block the view from one of the penthouses.<br />

Comment<br />

As a solution for this problem, we recommended installing <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

TRIGON® XXL SE boilers. These boilers have very low emissions<br />

that fall below most strict limits. It was calculated that for <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

boilers it would be enough to install pipework just 13m high in order<br />

to comply with emission requirements. Savings on the flue pipe<br />

covered the difference in cost between modern <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers and<br />

traditional fire-tube boilers.<br />

The challenge<br />

Surrounding the hotel are independent apartment buildings with 333<br />

guest suites (each for a minimum of 4 people). There are 10 independent<br />

boiler rooms in the complex: The main room in the hotel building<br />

houses 3 x TRIGON® XL 570 boilers. The intermediate room provides<br />

heating and hot water for 3 apartment buildings using 2 x TRIGON® XL<br />

500 units, while there are another 8 cascade boiler rooms fitted with<br />

THISION® L ECO 70 boilers.<br />

The main building boasts extensive spa facilities and a swimming pool<br />

area with high energy demand in terms of both central heating and the<br />

large amounts of hot water required.<br />

The building is constructed to a very high standard and has many high<br />

quality facilities for visitors and guests to use.<br />

There were very high specification requirements for the heating and<br />

hot water system, as well as a greater emphasis on after-sales service,<br />

maintenance and support.<br />

Thanks to the choice of a separate heating and<br />

domestic hot water setup, there is minimal downtime<br />

and higher efficiency. This is continuously analysed by<br />

the building management system. Van der Valk Hotels<br />

uses this type of system at a number of its venues. The<br />

results are expected to be similar for projects of the<br />

same size.<br />

The newly built part of the hotel is heated by a bivalent heating<br />

solution, with a heat pump working together with powerful,<br />

energy efficient units from <strong>ELCO</strong>. The hot water is also<br />

produced by an <strong>ELCO</strong> system.<br />

The challenge<br />

The choice was made to design the installation to allow different heat<br />

solutions to work together: From natural gas to waste heat storage<br />

with heat pump technologies. The combination of existing and new<br />

technologies led to the decision to use separate products for heating<br />

and hot water.<br />

Comment<br />

The aim was to provide energy efficient heating without compromising<br />

on comfort, while expanding the heating system in the existing building.<br />

It was therefore decided to decouple heating and hot water. Here, the<br />

heat pump provides heating with the support of the <strong>ELCO</strong> boilers, which<br />

also guarantees plenty of hot water. This is indicative of the energyefficient<br />

and green approach being taken to ensure all Van der Valk<br />

hotels are more sustainable.<br />

The Villa Castagnola in Lugano is one<br />

of Switzerland’s most renowned fivestar<br />

Situated on the shore of Lago Maggiore, the venue boasts<br />

an impressive garden with subtropical plants and a<br />

charming structure When the hotel’s boiler room had to be<br />

revamped, two TRIGON® XL gas boilers made the cut.<br />

The challenge<br />

Being a historic hotel, the Villa Castagnola still uses a great many<br />

cast-iron radiators, which necessitates high flow temperatures.<br />

The old setup with four 250kW gas boilers had to be replaced<br />

as smoothly as possible to avoid any disturbance to the guests.<br />

Therefore, the project was executed in two consecutive years, each<br />

time replacing two old boilers with a new one.<br />

In 2020, Villa Castagnola implemented an ambitious<br />

remodeling of its entire heating system to lower CO 2<br />

emissions and fossil fuel usage. Due to the cast-iron<br />

radiators, the hotel is still reliant on gas to provide<br />

The 105,000m 2 commercial shopping<br />

centre used two 1 MW traditional boilers<br />

Due to the high heating costs, the old boilers were<br />

The four new TRIGON® XL 500 boilers have<br />

enabled the entire shopping centre to reduce<br />

costs. They are properly stoned in a cascade<br />

system, which also helps to avoid unnecessary<br />

expenditure. The boilers were easily installed<br />

in an attic space, thanks to their modular<br />

construction, which also made the renovation<br />

more cost-effective.<br />

Praxis Megastore Breda is one of the largest Praxis stores<br />

and has a retail floor area of 10,102m 2 .<br />

The challenge<br />

The existing boilers were obsolete and not did not match the vision<br />

of Praxis in terms of their sustainability. Making stores more energy<br />

efficient is an important part of the company's business operations,<br />

so the decision was taken to replace the heating system with a low<br />

emission alternative.<br />

Comment<br />

The Praxis organisation wants to make all its shops more sustainable<br />

and recently fitted all premises with LED lighting. Now the existing<br />

heating systems are gradually being replaced by more sustainable<br />

appliances. For the Praxis Megastore Breda, the decision was taken<br />

to upgrade to a high-capacity cascade installation, comprising four<br />

TRIGON® L PLUS boilers with a combined capacity of 700kW.<br />

As part of an extensive refurbishment, the Stade<br />

Vélodrome of Marseille, the emblematic stadium of<br />

the OM football club, needed to update its boiler plant<br />

to provide spectators, employees and athletes with<br />

highly efficient water generation. <strong>ELCO</strong> supplied two<br />

THISION® L EVO DHW boilers, designed to provide<br />

reliable hot water all year round.<br />

The challenge<br />

On the site of the legendary Velodrome stadium in Marseille,<br />

the challenge was to find a high-performance, energy efficient,<br />

system to meet domestic hot water needs. The <strong>ELCO</strong> solution with<br />

THISION® L EVO DHW systems was chosen by the installer Eiffage<br />

Energy and the contractor: Bouygues Energie.<br />

Scham Baichoo, sales representative for the area, comments: "The<br />

particularity of the site is that the showers for the entire Olympique<br />

de Marseille team after their football matches, for approximately<br />

30 to 40 players, must be provided at a specific time. Bouygues<br />

Energie was also looking for a system that was very efficient in terms<br />

of energy consumption and with sustainable boilers. The <strong>ELCO</strong><br />

solution was quickly adopted by the client, particularly because of<br />

the stainless steel in the THISION® EVO. In addition, the installation<br />

cost is lower due to the absence of a plate heat exchanger, which<br />

would have required more attention to detail during maintenance,<br />

whereas with the THISION® EVO the intervention is facilitated."<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong> Heating Solutions brings modern<br />

heating to Ulster Museum.<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong> Heating Solutions (<strong>ELCO</strong>) has supplied four 200kW<br />

TRIGON® XL gas condensing boilers to Ulster Museum,<br />

Belfast. The new boilers, which replaced four ageing cast<br />

iron units, are providing highly efficient heating and hot<br />

water to the entire property.<br />

Background<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong>’s agent for Northern Ireland, Sermet (NI) Ltd, completed the boiler<br />

replacement and commissioning over two phases to maintain heating and<br />

hot water services throughout the project, while reducing disruption for<br />

staff and visitors.<br />

One of the major challenges involved access to the basement plant room,<br />

which could only be entered via a ladder staircase or a small service lift<br />

measuring less than one square metre. This restriction made the TRIGON®<br />

XL the perfect boiler for the project, thanks to its ingenious modular build.<br />

This design feature allowed Sermet’s installation team to disassemble<br />

the boilers into their component parts at ground level and subsequently<br />

transport them to the basement in the small service lift. Completing the<br />

whole process took less than half a day for each boiler.<br />

The new boilers have been connected to the existing system, with the<br />

addition of a low loss header to provide hydraulic separation of the<br />

primary and secondary circuit. This approach is helping to regulate the<br />

heating system’s flow rates and pressures, which will ultimately maintain<br />

the boilers’ high efficiencies and performance levels over their lifetime.<br />

Furthermore, each TRIGON® XL unit has been connected to the Building<br />

Management System (BMS), which utilises the boilers’ built-in cascade<br />

controls, ensuring they operate at the required set point and modulate<br />

accordingly.<br />

The <strong>ELCO</strong> solution<br />

The specification was created by the Construction and<br />

Procurement Delivery (CPD) department for NI, which<br />

has a remit to help clients across NI deliver successful<br />

projects. Commenting on the specification, lead engineer,<br />

Bernadette Cassidy, said: “Once the old boilers started to<br />

cause issues, such as minor leaks and not starting on cold<br />

winter mornings, we soon agreed they had reached the<br />

end of their life cycle and needed replacing. We identified<br />

specific design requirements for the replacement units,<br />

including ultra-low NOx emissions, seasonal efficiencies<br />

greater than 97%, a flexible boiler design and a heat<br />

exchanger constructed entirely from stainless steel.<br />

Essentially, we needed a reliable, new heating system to<br />

maintain the required conditions in the museum throughout<br />

the year and protect the artefacts.”<br />

Other aspects identified within the new specification<br />

included the upgrade of the circulating pumps for adaptive<br />

flow rates, extra insulation to all pipework to reduce heat<br />

loss and new controls that could be monitored remotely by<br />

the local premises team.<br />

Discussing the <strong>ELCO</strong> TRIGON® XL boilers, Bernadette<br />

added: “The new boilers have a small footprint and are<br />

easy to move into position, which is highly beneficial in tight<br />

spaces such as the museum’s basement plant room. They<br />

are also quiet and have been working well, so the client<br />

is really happy with the installation and upgrade of the<br />

equipment.”<br />

The HVAC system at Mediensis Technical College was upgraded<br />

with the latest floor standing boiler technology from <strong>ELCO</strong> Heating<br />

The access to the plant room within the Mediansis Technical College<br />

was limited, which created a challenge when replacing the boilers.<br />

As a result, it was imperative to specify a compact unit that would be<br />

easy to manouevre on site. Measuring only 468cm wide and supplied<br />

with castor wheels, ensured the TRIGON® XL 250 could be taken<br />

through narrow doors and corridors for a hassle free installation.<br />

The heating system requires a delta T of<br />

30K and at the same time a high systemside<br />

water pressure of 6 bar due to the<br />

building's height. Furthermore, only two<br />

chimney flues with a height of 42m were<br />

available. Here, the TRIGON® XL was able<br />

to demonstrate its full performance and<br />

robustness. Coupled with <strong>ELCO</strong>'s HEX³<br />

stainless steel heat exchanger and the<br />

low flue gas emissions, a long-lasting and<br />

efficient system was created.<br />

From the heating centre in the basement of the<br />

16-storey building, the surrounding properties are<br />

supplied with heat.<br />

The challenge<br />

The existing boiler was defective and leaking. Therefore, the<br />

defective 2,300kW boiler had to be replaced at short notice, while<br />

the remaining 2,300kW boiler also had to be renewed. A CHP<br />

(combined heat and power) with an electrical output of 300kW<br />

remains installed in the central heating system, which should be<br />

hydraulically integrated into the new set-up and optimise running<br />

time. A combination of cramped conditions in the central heating<br />

system, the building's height of over 42m and the integration into<br />

the BMS (GLT) were all issues that had to be overcome.<br />

Comment<br />

The aim was to increase the efficiency of the boiler system in<br />

combination with the CHP unit and ensure reliability. For this<br />

purpose, we focused on a low starting output of the boilers when<br />

selecting the products and put together a cascade comprising<br />

several units. We then compared the TRIGON® XXL and TRIGON®<br />

XL and, together with the heating engineer and the customer, we<br />

decided on a cascade of 8x TRIGON® XL 570 instead of 4x TRIGON®<br />

XXL 1200.<br />

Parkstad Limburg stadium in Kerkrade.<br />

The Parkstad Limburg stadium in Kerkrade is Dutch<br />

football club Roda JC's home stadium and has 19,979<br />

seats, 2,500 business seats and 24 skyboxes.<br />

The challenge<br />

For this project the big challenge was placing the boiler in the<br />

stadium. Because the <strong>ELCO</strong> TRIGON® XXL is easily dismantled into<br />

smaller components, transporting and installing it in the boiler room<br />

was possible. The integral cargo wheels made manoeuvring and<br />

positioning the boilers on site easier.<br />

The <strong>ELCO</strong> solution<br />

The system has now been running as<br />

expected for some time: Fault-free<br />

and significantly reducing natural gas<br />

consumption.<br />

Thanks to the low-water combustion<br />

technology, in which the heat exchanger<br />

operates with a minimum amount of<br />

water, the warm-up time is fast. In fact, the<br />

TRIGON® XXL EVO needs only 30 seconds<br />

to reach room temperature.<br />

Comment<br />

During the construction of the stadium, the boilers were lifted inside.<br />

This was only made possible due to the boiler's ability to be<br />

dismantled and then reassembled once on site. The end result<br />

was a high quality, energy efficient heating system in a cascade<br />

arrangement. The new boilers are responsible for powering the<br />

stadium's pitch heating system, the hot water for the showers and<br />

swimming pool, plus heating for the offices and public lounges.<br />

TRIGON® XXL condensing boilers offer top<br />

performance and can reach outputs up to<br />

2 MW, thanks to a unique design. When<br />

mounted in cascade, the TRIGON® XXL<br />

boilers can reach a total output of 32 MW.<br />

<strong>ELCO</strong> meets logistics centre’s heating<br />

demands quickly and efficiently.<br />

Altex Romania, one of the largest companies in the Romanian<br />

retail market, has invested 37 million Euros in developing a<br />

new logistics centre near Bucharest. Located on a plot of land<br />

measuring 15.2 ha, it comprises two main storage buildings<br />

measuring 90,000m 2 , alongside 46,000m 2 of external<br />

logistics platforms. The new logistics centre accommodates a<br />

wide range of products, from large household appliances to<br />

IT components and accessories.<br />

The challenge<br />

To deliver the high heating outputs across such a large site required<br />

the specification of powerful boilers. They also needed to deliver<br />

the highest levels of efficiency to reflect the new state-of-the-art<br />

logistics centre. As a result, the four floor standing units from <strong>ELCO</strong>'s<br />

commercial range were installed in cascade, delivering a combined<br />

output of 5,500kW across the two logistics halls.<br />

Altex Logistic Park needed a carefully designed, high quality heating<br />

system. <strong>ELCO</strong>'s solution was developed to developed to meet the<br />

highest demands, while offering the greatest possible economy,<br />

maximum flexibility and reduced emissions.<br />
