If you were reincarnated
as an artist, what kind of
artist would you prefer
to be, and why?
BARBARA BOYER
of Haddonfield
would relish being
reincarnated as a
photographer. “I’ve
been in and out
of darkrooms all
my life,” she says.
“In my next life, I’d
like to focus on the
artistic aspects of
photography.”
LESTER OWENS of
Blackwood enjoys
learning about Black
history, especially
in relation to the
Revolutionary and
Civil wars. “I’d like to
document that, as a
pen-and-ink artist,”
he says.
Swedesboro’s
AMANDA
LAMPKIN has
always been
fascinated by
the beauty of
watercolor. “I’d paint
nature, landscapes,
plants, and animals,”
she says.
KATIE TRAN of
Pennsauken says
that because food
involves a number of
senses, “the plating
of food is just as
important as its
smell and taste.
I’d want to come
back as a chef!”
JOSE MEDINA of
Oaklyn hopes his
reincarnated life
would be just like
his present life. “I
love to sing,” says
Jose. “That’s my art.
I sing everywhere. In
church, cutting the
grass, in the shower.
I really let loose!”
Cherry Hill’s BOB
SMOLSKI would like
to be reincarnated
as Salvador Dali.
“The freedom of
Surrealism has
always appealed to
me,” says Bob. “You
can do whatever the
heck you want and
get away with it.”
