Coeducational - Kindergarten to Year 12, Day and Boarding, Anglican
Peninsula Grammar School holds its place as the preeminent school on the Mornington Peninsula. An open-entry,
coeducational school, located one hour’s drive south of Melbourne and situated on 80 acres of gently sloping natural
bushland, it is renowned for the depth of opportunity it affords each child. With an exceptional record of academic
achievement, a strong sporting program, and a performing arts program of distinction, the School is inherently proud
of its culture of excellence.
Facilities
Located in one of the most enviable corners of the country,
extending across Mount Eliza and with stunning views of Port
Phillip Bay, the School is renowned for its evolving landscape
and the considerations it makes when building new learning
environments. Its most recent building, ALATUS, combines
technology and critical thinking in a purpose-built environment
that challenges students to rethink their learning and discover
fact from fiction. Its state-of-the-art Science Centre provides
a pre-tertiary context of exploration where theoretical studies
and laboratory experiences work hand in hand to deepen
students’ inquisitive nature and innate understanding of the
scientific world. With three gymnasiums, two outdoor heated
swimming pools, multiple sporting ovals and grass tennis
courts, the School beautifully pairs natural beauty with its
exceptional learning environments.
Curriculum
As a Kindergarten to Year 12 school, its rich curriculum provides
a depth of learning necessary for students to be future and life
ready. Its bespoke ALATUS curriculum is a powerful example of
the transformation of education and the necessity of ensuring
students learn how to think, critique and enquire confidently. A
34 VCE subject offering enables students to choose a pathway
that meets their aspirations and strengths. With exceptional and
highly experienced leaders in the VCE, the program ensures
every child experiences success throughout their final years at
the School.
Cocurricular Programs
Music
Music enhances children’s developmental pathways in many
ways, and the School recognises this through its investment
in exceptional Performing Arts and Music programs, where
students learn from recognised and professional theatrical
leaders and musicians. Students enjoy a broad range of
musical experiences from the Junior Years Music program to
VCE Music Performance in conjunction with our exceptional
instrumental, ensemble and vocal programs.
Performing Arts
Peninsula Grammar’s Performing Arts program offers students
incredible experiences and opportunities to showcase
their talents on stage through the Junior Years Mini Musical
Extravaganza, Middle Years and Senior Years productions. These
productions set the standard for student performance and are
highly anticipated calendar events across its community.
Sport
With a proud sporting history and as a member of the
Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV), the School
delivers a strong sporting program, particularly across women’s
AFL, touch football and cricket. Middle and Senior School
students compete in winter and summer sports competition
to expand and enrich their learning, growth and resilience far
beyond the classroom setting.
Wellbeing & Positive Education
As leaders on student wellbeing, respectful relationships and
positive education, the School provides students with a better
understanding of their emotions, existence and impact within
the world. Its strong pastoral support network work closely
with families to ensure student growth and development is
experienced through a holistic framework.
Art, Design and Technology
From Kinder to Year 12, students are encouraged to develop
an awareness of how art and design process communicates
values, ideas and meaning, and allows students to ‘think,
imagine, create and appreciate’. The School regularly hosts
spectacular art shows and produces graduates who continue
to pursue their passions as a profession through the Victorian
College of the Arts.
Scholarships
The School’s scholarship program reflects its continuous
commitment to recognise and celebrate student aspiration and
achievement, and offer exceptional students the opportunity
to reach their full potential. Its diverse array of scholarship
opportunities include academic and general excellence across
several year levels.
intercultural learners an unsurpassed boarding experience
by enabling them to pursue excellence in their studies in new
Year 12
A learning community
Brighton Grammar is one of Australia’s
leading independent boys’ school, with strong
community traditions and a culture of excellence.
Founded in 1882, the school has a non-selective
enrolment policy, with over 1500 students from
ELC - VCE.
It is a learning community passionate about
inspiring and guiding boys on their journey
to manhood. Our approach is founded on
evidenced-based research which integrates
with best practice teaching and learning. As
a single-campus school, every boy is known,
encouraged and celebrated for his individual
passions and talents. We are guided by the
traditions and practices of the Anglican Church
and our 4 core values of respect, integrity
accountability and passion.
Come on a tour to get an authentic feel
of the facilities, programs and educational
opportunities we can offer your son.
Why a boy’s school?
Boys thrive in a culture that understands,
accepts and celebrate them. Studies have
shown that boys’ schools help to build positive
masculinity and general wellbeing for boys.
Their social awareness and interpersonal skills
are improved, giving them the confidence to
know and be themselves.
With higher rates of self-esteem, boys perform
better academically, have higher participation
rates in arts and music, and develop closer
relationships within cohorts, leading to greater
empathy and emotional awareness.
Learning how to learn
Our strong student engagement focus, coupled
with a commitment to small class sizes, has
resulted in exceptional academic results. We use
coaching methods to foster a high-performance
learning environment. Boys receive one-onone
coaching but they also learn to coach one
another. Our teachers are trained in instructional
coaching, ensuring all staff are continually
improving their teaching practice. Via our
Effective Learner model, boys acquire the skills
to take responsibility for their own learning and
engagement. Our senior students recognise
the benefit of working together in syndicates to
support one another.
Positive school culture
Our Wellbeing program is embedded in the
curriculum, to develop a positive school culture
that empowers students in their studies and lives.
Mindfulness is a school-wide program designed
to focus on the boys’ mental health, to boost
emotional intelligence and resilience. Students
are offered innovative and evidence-informed
initiatives in positivity masculinity, stressmanagement,
personal development and selfhealth
practices. Our Wellbeing Centre provides
a physical context for students and parents to
learn about positive psychology and wellness
programs. Improved wellbeing outcomes have
led to greater student engagement and stronger
academic performance.
Tomorrow’s entrepreneurs
When boys make their own learning choice, and
make an emotional connection, then learning
is enriched. In an era when traditional careers
are changing, we recognise that tomorrow’s
entrepreneurs should be nurtured at school
and encourage boys to adapt to this shift and
harness new opportunities. From building a
motorbike or designing a sensory rubrics cube
to making and racing a miniature F1 car, boys
are supported daily to develop an enterprising
mindset. They learn the key 21st century skills
of critical reasoning, collaboration and most
importantly creative thinking, identified as the
most important leadership competency for a
successful enterprise of the future.
Three cornered partnership
BGS recognises that each boy’s success in his
educational journey is optimised with the active
engagement of parents and advocates for a
three-cornered partnership between the boys,
families and the school. The Crowther Centre
keeps parents up-to-date on effective learning
strategies and offers a comprehensive parent
education program in the form of webinars,
workshops, a podcast, position papers and
resources for parents to access.
WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
We are an all-girls’ day and boarding college
located in Kew in Melbourne’s east. Set on 17
acres of beautiful gardens and with our own
oval, we offer innovative educational programs
that reflect the future. Contemporary Catholic
and FCJ values underpin the way we do things
at Gen. This means we believe in living with
purpose and serving with passion. We live our
vision through embracing the talents, potential
and dignity of each person. We achieve this by:
• Celebrating individuality and
understanding that every learning journey
is different.
• Offering innovative educational programs
which reflect the world we are preparing
students to succeed in.
• Partnering with parents in raising
insightful young women prepared for
more than just exams.
Each student has the opportunity to be their
best self, with a zest for life and the generosity
and confidence to use their talents and gifts in
the service of others.
REIMAGINING EDUCATION
Genazzano focuses on providing a diverse
and innovative education, relative to students
now and for their future. Genazzano’s bespoke
programs reflect student interest, nurture
aspirations and ignite creativity, taking learners
beyond the conventional classroom and
curriculum. Our co-curricular programs from
Year 5 and the exciting Microcredential Program
from Year 9, allow students to undertake a range
of courses to develop personal competencies
and professional skills around their own areas
of interest. Our specialised programs, like the
Year 8 “be” program and the Year 9 Immersion
Program prepare students not just for exams
but also for life after school. We focus on
the development of complex competencies
and capabilities that enrich students’ ability
for adaptability, interaction, personal growth,
confidence and tenacity.
From Year 10, Genazzano also offers extension
and professional learning opportunities
‘beyond’ the school curriculum. These typically
have a practical experience, folio or miniinternship
component. Students design their
own personalised and flexible program aligned
with their interests, ambitions and individual
circumstances. Known as ‘Studio Beyond’,
this initiative revolves around four Centres
of Excellence: Global Enterprises, Innovation
and Technology, Sports Development and
Creative Industries. This allows VCE students
the opportunity to design their own pathway
for success through the traditional academic
VCE, VCE Vocational Major (VM) or Victorian
Pathways Certificate (VPC).
Open Heart, Open Mind, Infinite Possibilities
Our holistic approach to educating young women
unites academic endeavour with deep care
for each child. Founded in 1888, we have an
unwavering commitment to nurturing future-ready
young women.
Educating for Human Flourishing
Our students’ wellbeing is at the core of their
personal endeavour and achievement. As such, it
will always be our first priority. We are committed to
supporting the emotional and social development
of each student, and the delivery of our Pastoral
Care program is central to this.
We live in a rapidly changing world, one that
provides challenges and opportunities for our
future generations. For our young women to fully
embrace the future and to help build a better
society, we must provide them with the necessary
capabilities, knowledge and skills.
Our current strategic plan recognises the
challenges of our ever-changing world and how
education must equip students with the skills and
mindset required for tertiary education and the
workplace. Our School’s Future Fit Framework
underpins the learning and teaching of our school.
Based on the values of Purpose, Excellence,
Care, Hope and Connection and the actions of
Developing Thinking, Deepening Understanding,
Discovering Possibilities, it specifically links
wellbeing and learning, aiming to create
ambassadors of positive change.
Our students learn from highly qualified and
passionate teachers, many of whom are curriculum
experts. Within small classes, our teachers
embrace each child as an individual, meeting their
learning and wellbeing needs.
Learning in our Junior School, Joigny, focuses on
building upon each child’s natural enthusiasm and
curiosity within a caring environment.
In Senior School, academic endeavour and the
holistic, personal development of each student
are at the core of our focus. As a result, our
young women flourish and achieve exceptional
VCE results.
St Kevin’s College – who we are
St Kevin’s College is a Catholic ELC to Year
12 College for boys in the tradition of Blessed
Edmund Rice. St Kevin’s has established itself
as a leading Catholic school in Melbourne
in academic excellence and co-curricular
pursuits, with a strong emphasis on social
justice and faith in action.
The College strives for the development
of the whole person, integrating spiritual
development, academic success, cultural
awareness and sporting participation in
the context of the Catholic tradition, where
students have a voice and agency. St Kevin’s
has developed a strong academic tradition
where each student is encouraged to take
responsibility for his own learning in an
environment that values knowledge, effort
and resilience.
St Kevin’s is a member of the Associated
Public Schools of Victoria, through which
the College participates in, and offers a
comprehensive range of competitive sports
with other APS schools.
The College promotes a genuine commitment
to social service, a commitment to student
voice and leadership, and a commitment to
offer a holistic education that aims to build
character and develop students to grow in
the fullness of life in our contemporary world.
Our Past, Our Future
“If we fail to adapt, we fail to move forward” -
John Wooden.
From humble beginnings more than 100 years
ago on Albert Street, East Melbourne, to five
campuses across Melbourne, St Kevin’s College
continues to grow and adapt as it strives to
educate boys to build a better world. When
Archbishop Mannix first opened the school in
1918, one could not have imagined the influence
of its graduates across many fields through
the years. And yet, while the College rightfully
celebrates the many successes of Old Collegians
and the great advancements to its facilities, the
new 10-year Master Plan communicates the
necessity of creating contemporary learning
environments to prepare students for a changing
world, while also aiding a holistic, flourishing
learning and working environment.
St Kevin’s College is a liberating Catholic school
that is steadfast in its commitment to academic
rigour in all learning and teaching in addition to
concurrently promoting positive cultural, social
and ethical behaviours. The College is focused
on wellbeing for learning and life to ensure
a culture of respect for all students, staff and
families. A focus on being an inclusive community
for the common good also ensures St Kevin’s
College will continue to identify and respond to
the opportunities for educational innovation and
honour diversity and inclusion well into the future.
embodies the essence of a Lasallian community.
Here, education goes beyond academic
achievements, focusing on nurturing moral
and spiritual growth. We strive to develop wellrounded
individuals with a strong ethical compass,
prepared to approach the world with compassion
and resilience.
Our College welcomes students from diverse
faiths and backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and
collaborative academic environment. Respect,
challenge, and mutual understanding are at the
core of our ethos. Recognising the individuality
of each student and personalised education
is paramount, we offer specialised programs
including Accelerated Learning, Gifted and
Talented Education, the Year 10 STRIVE Program,
and Education Support Programs, catering to
various learning styles and enabling each student
to reach their full potential.
We provide VCE for our students and within
VCE, students have the option to complete the
traditional VCE pathway or the new Vocational
Major Pathway. All students can include VET as part
of their senior years. This prepares our students not
only for academic success but also equips them for
real-world challenges.
As Principal Peter Houlihan often says, “De La
Salle College is a Lasallian community with a place
and pathway for all.” This statement captures
our mission to foster young men of outstanding
character, ready to contribute and lead in their
chosen fields with quality, respect, and empathy. De
La Salle College is not just about formal academic
education; it’s about inspiring a lifelong journey of
YARRA VALLEY GRAMMAR
MELBOURNE EAST
www.yvg.vic.edu.au
Yarra Valley Grammar Overview
Established in Ringwood in 1966 and set on
a spacious 30-hectare single campus, Yarra
Valley Grammar overlooks the picturesque
Dandenong Ranges. Our students excel under
the guidance of great teachers who love what
they do and seek to inspire them to strive for
excellence. The School offers an extensive
range of contemporary opportunities and sets
high standards of performance, encouraging
all students to achieve their personal best.
Great teachers are able to communicate
complex concepts in simple ways. They
can vary the way they teach to suit the way
each student learns. This takes patience,
flexibility and the ability to see things from the
students’ perspective. Yarra Valley Grammar’s
team of teachers know their material, love
their subjects and love to teach. They have
a genuine interest in getting to know their
students, so they can teach them effectively,
encourage them to achieve their best, identify
issues or problems, and care for their welfare.
Our teachers are also role models for our
students, promoting the School’s core values
such as respect, concern and action for others,
and treating others as they wish to be treated.
Scholarships
High achieving students who are Australian
citizens are eligible for scholarships in the
areas of academia, music, sport and general
excellence. Scholarships are offered to
students entering Years 7 to 11.
Outstanding VCE Results
In 2023, our VCE students have once again
achieved some excellent and well deserved
results including:
• Dux of the School - ATAR of 99.9
• Over 49% of students received an ATAR
greater than 90
• The median ATAR was 89.5
We believe that it is the powerful combination
of hard work and dedication from our
students and great leadership, guidance
and commitment from their teachers which
contributes to Yarra Valley Grammar’s
consistently excellent VCE results.
Early Learning Centre
Children are learning from the time they enter
the world and, from the time our youngest
students enter Yarra Valley Grammar, we work
with parents to continue to foster that sense of
wonder and awe. Kindergarten programs are
available for both three and four year olds, full
and part time.
MARANATHA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Welcome to Maranatha Christian School with
campuses at Endeavour Hills and Officer. Our
vision is to be an inclusive Christian learning
community in partnership with home and
church where students are inspired to discover
and develop their God-given gifts, abilities and
character for a life of service to the Lord in
contemporary society.
Through a model of Christ-centred education
and constant encouragement, we seek to
inspire children to develop and use their God
given talents to be the best they can be, both
for themselves and others, as this gives honour
to God. We do this by employing talented and
capable Christian teachers who are not only
highly qualified and well regarded educators,
but also can build quality relationships
with students.
Through academic and co-curricular programs,
children are encouraged to pursue excellence
in all they do. By participating in a rigorous,
challenging and engaging curriculum, as well
as a wide range of co-curricular programs, a
student at Maranatha can access opportunity
- the opportunity to learn, the opportunity
to develop, the opportunity to serve, the
opportunity to grow and the opportunity
to excel. These opportunities help children
develop their personal faith and build the
necessary skills to succeed in life, no matter
what pathway God may lead them.
As a leader with over 50 years of experience
in Christian education, Maranatha assists
students in becoming ‘culture shapers’ rather
than merely culture responders. It does this
ELC - Year 12
by combining research-based high impact
teaching and learning with a Biblical perspective
to help students learn to think Christianly about
the world in which they live. In a secular and
diverse world, it is essential that Christians can
defend the gospel intellectually (1 Peter 3:15)
and have the wisdom and ability to discern right
from wrong. In this way, Maranatha students
go on to become leaders within and for their
community by being good decision-makers,
both for themselves and others.
As importantly, we believe that as a school
community, we must actively display God’s
love for the world, as exemplified by Jesus.
We do this not just in how we treat each other
with courtesy and respect, or display personal
integrity, but practically through community
service in Melbourne and overseas.
Completing a quality education at Maranatha
means that boys and girls will have the skills
to achieve success in their professional
and personal lives, and so make a positive
contribution to society, no matter where in the
world God may lead them.
Through a model of Christ
centered education and constant
encouragement, we seek to inspire
children to develop and use their
God given talents to be the best they
can be, both for themselves and
others, as this gives honour to God.
We see the development of academic
learning, personal wellbeing, and student
engagement as being interdependent. As a
result, we promote the development of student
outcomes across the essential elements of
learning: the understanding of concepts, the
Leadership Opportunities
The development of leadership skills is one of the most important aspects of every student’s education. At Bacchus Marsh
Grammar we are driven by the belief in “Leading as Service”. That true leadership comes from a desire to serve and assist
others and the environments and settings in which they work and live. The service focused leader puts the needs of others
first and helps others achieve their goals and do their best.
We are proud of the range of opportunities at our School for students to develop and practise their leadership skills
through participating in activities and refining existing skills.
Our leadership programs start in the early years of Middle School and reinforced with a series of graded opportunities in
higher year levels.
Staughton Vale Program
Our purpose built and picturesque Staughton Vale Campus is just 20 minutes from our Maddingley Campus and on the
fringe of the Brisbane Ranges National Park. From Prep to Year 12, all students access the Staughton Vale Campus for
excursions and learning activities as part of their education journey.
Boasting more than 200 undulating acres of fertile pastures, orchards, dams and natural forest, Staughton Vale enhances
the learning experiences of all students. It also heightens the relationship and understanding of each student’s impact on
the local natural environment and their wider role as a global environmental citizen.
Authentic Experiential Learning
Creating authentic experiences for students
to build capacity to understand who they are
in their world, and others living in different
worlds, is a crucial part of Christian College’s
educational perspective – from Kindergarten
and Prep through to Year 12.
Our Bush Kinder and Bush Prep programs
provide access to spaces that allow children to
be immersed in sensory experiences in nature.
From Prep – Y4, we offer an excellent core
learning program and unparalleled specialty
areas taught by dedicated staff, including Music,
Japanese, Phys Ed, Library, Art and Digital
Technologies.
Our Languages program features specialist
language and native speakers teaching
Japanese from K - 12 and Indonesian from
Y5 - 12. Underpinning this are decades-long
relationships with sister schools – Naga High
School in Iwade, Japan (30 years) and SMA
Negeri 2 in Mataram, Lombok (25+ years).
There are short-term and long-term exchanges
in Indonesia and Japan, where students stay
with local families and live their daily routines.
Reciprocal visits are made by our sister schools
to Geelong.
Our Instrumental Music offerings at all
campuses, give students many opportunities to
develop and showcase their talents, solo and in
ensembles, in authentic performance settings –
locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Many Christian College graduates have gone
on to enjoy highly successful music careers.
Another unique offering is the Year 9
Transformation Program, which includes half a
term living and working at the College’s Back
Creek Farm, a commercial dairy operation
near Ballarat. Here, students undertake a
variety of tasks essential for the running of the
farm. They also spend time in our Back Creek
Café in Meredith, living the ‘paddock to plate’
experience and learning a range of hospitalityrelated
skills.
Further immersive learning comes with the Our
World elective programs at our Senior campus.
Classroom-based learning harnesses student
passions about making a difference in their
world. Powerful, experiential learning occurs
when they visit Central Australian communities
or communities we have befriended overseas in
East Timor, Vietnam and Cambodia.
We invite you to visit our website, make contact
and book a tour – come and see for yourself
how The Learning That Matters is effectively
and powerfully delivered through our range of
innovative core and specialist area programs.
MacKillop College offers learning opportunities in academia,
politics, social matters, religion, leadership, sport, performance,
hospitality, and more, in order to provide a holistic approach
to education. We strive to give our students the tools they may
need to stand independently and as part of a wider community.
At MacKillop College, we work to build our students’ educational
journey, providing them with choice and structure to find
the pathway best suited to them. One such option includes
accelerated learning, which assists students who seek higher
education. Another is the provision of a specialist program
(supporting the new Vocational Major in VCE) for students who
prefer applied learning. We approach learning through the
lens of inclusivity, and offer career and personal guidance for
those who need it. The aim is ever to provide students with a
robust support system for social-emotional learning to ensure
the prioritisation of their wellbeing.
For students who would like to develop their stage presence as
well as becoming more comfortable in front of an audience, the
College hosts regular music, dance and theatre productions,
where family and friends can attend to support and appreciate
their hard work. Everything from artworks, to culinary creations,
to leadership skills, are introduced and developed within
the curriculum and our state-of-the-art facilities. Facilities
which are constructed with ever more consideration towards
environmental impact and sustainability, with the College
actively investing in renewable energy sources, sustainable
materials, and offering students a range of extracurricular
programs that focus on caring for our planet and community.
One such program is EcoMacK, which has been designed to
teach students how they can integrate sustainability into their
lives through volunteer programs and innovations that help
the environment.
We have designed our campus to best facilitate the learning
process, encouraging experimentation and growth with
special interest clubs ranging from animal husbandry
to eSport, to fan fiction. The campus also includes a
gymnasium; chapel; amphitheatre; digital technologies hub;
a vivid illustration of how a school can cultivate
an environment where students and staff thrive.
Delivering exceptional education across two
over 50 nationalities, the school is in high demand
across all entry years. In addition to campuses in
Lovely Banks near Geelong.
The school’s vision of Shaping Learners who Inspire
the World has never had more resonance. In this
era of fast paced change Westbourne has become
a leader in developing policy and programs that
embrace innovative technologies and tools for the
future. However, it is people that remain the focus
of all that we do. Our strategic initiatives are built
around people, place and programs and in the words
of Principal Dr. Adrian Camm, “People, Place and
Programs is a very clear way to articulate how we
approach the advancement of our school. People
