(GOAST) nodes, which can process a
batch of 32 exomes (a specific part of
the genome) in parallel in as little as
three hours.
The solution allows Novo Genomics to
analyse an entire human genome in less
than an hour. To put this achievement
in context, doing so took up to 150
hours just a few years ago. Accelerating
genome sequencing to this level could
unlock a future of precision medicine,
personalised to the individual, where
genomic analysis is paired with data
from edge devices including wearables
to deliver personalised prescriptions and
treatments, tailored to the individual's
specific needs and genetic make-up.
Data management enables powerful
combinations of HPC and artificial
intelligence and machine learning,
which are opening new frontiers of
discovery around the world, and
enabling humanity to deal with the 'big'
questions from incurable diseases to
