1 Inspect the ladder after delivery and
before first use to confirm condition and
operation of all parts. Make sure that the
ladder is provided with labels and use and
maintenance guide, as required by the
European norm EN131.
8 Leaning ladders used for access
to a higher level should be extended
at least 1.1m above the landing point.
15 Metal ladders are electricity
conductors. Don’t use them close to
electric cables. The use of fibreglass
ladders is recommended.
2 Ensure the ladder is suitable for the
task. For stepladders, you shall consider a
maximum working height of 1.80 m. starting
from the point where the feet are placed. Do
not stand on the top three steps or rungs of
a leaning ladder; Do not stand on the top two
steps or rungs of a trestle ladder where there is
no platform or support at hand or knee height.
3 Do not use damaged ladders. Replace
the damaged elements. Fibreglass ladders
have a shorter life than aluminium ones,
therefore do not expose them for long time
to extreme cold or to summer sunshine.
4 Repairs and maintenance shall be
carried out by competent persons. Only
original components shall be used. Ask
them to the authorised retailer.
5 Remove any contamination from the
ladder, such as wet paint or mud, that
might cause the deterioration and/or the
non-safety use of the product.
9 Ladders must never be
repositioned from a point high-up.
10 Do not exceed the maximum
total load for the type of ladder. 150 kg
according to the EN131 Norm.
11The ladder shall be used by a
person at a time.
12 Do not lean out from the
ladder. Avoid sideways loads. Avoid
all excessive lateral constraints .
16 Do not use the ladder outside
in adverse weather conditions).
17 Ladders aren’t toys. Take all
necessary precautions to prevent
from children playing on ladders.
18 Do not use the ladder near
opened doors or windows or mobile
devices.
19 Keep on a secure grip and
face the ladder when ascending and
descending.
6 Ladders must be put up in the right
position. The correct slope for a leaning
ladder is between 68° and 75°(the base
should be 1 / 4 of its length distant from the
wall or from the projection of ladder’s top
on the ground). You shall completely open
stepladder and you shall lock the safety
devices, if fitted.
13 Do not position your feet over
the last meter of a ladder ( third rung
from the top).
20 Do not use the ladder as a
bridge.
21 Wear suitable footwear when
climbing ladder.
7 Ladders shall not be positioned on
slippery surfaces (such as ice, shiny
surfaces or significantly contaminated
surfaces) unless additional effective
measures are taken to prevent the ladder
slipping).
14 Do not spend long periods
on a ladder without regular breaks
(tiredness is a risk).
22 For professional users regular
periodic inspection is required.
OTHER SAFETY INFORMATIONS
• You shall always put both feet on the same treads/rungs during the use. In this way you will work safely.
• The four feet of a stepladder shall always touch the ground.
• The tools tray, where expected, is not considered as a tread/rung.
• Before use, completely open the ladder.
• Fibreglass ladders: you shall periodically inspect stiles conditions. Nicks that could appear on the stiles, could be due
to simple scratches of the clear polyester protection finishing. These are not cause of structural weakness. If you notice
any detrimental material change, you shall replace the element at once.
• Use the ladders, just for the task they have been planned for.
• Feet and shoes are subject to wear. Replace them when they are consumed.
• When you lean the ladder against a roof, the ladder itself has to go beyond 1 meter at least to safely land on the roof.
ADVICES FOR A GOOD USE
• If you have to spend long time on a ladder, you should choose a product with rhomboidal rungs or with treads. Your
legs and feet won’t get tired.
• You always shall verify the ladder conditions before the use.
• In case you have some worn components, you have to contact the retailer.
• The producer is not responsible for reparations performed from non-qualified persons, or for components replaced with
non-original parts.
