Introduction to
Insect Control
Insect control products are available
to eradicate all types of flying and
crawling insects, including bed bugs,
flies, cockroaches, fleas and more. Our
product range includes flykillers, insect
sprays, professional insecticides, insect
traps and fly traps. All of which are ideal
for dealing with the most challenging
insect infestations.
While most food manufacturing
facilities use some control techniques
for the reduction of filth flies, there
has been less success in developing
a numeric assessment of the level of
monitoring and control of flying insects.
Why glueboards
Glueboard technology is more hygienic than traditional
killing grid flykillers. The BRC global standard for food
safety references the risk of insect expulsion from
flykillers.
Glueboard-based insect light traps, which are already
in widespread use in the food handling industry, are
one of the most acceptable fly control solutions for
use within a food handling facility and contribute
successfully to reducing or eliminating the food
contamination potential.
4.14 Pest Control
The whole site shall have an effective preventive pest
control programme in place to minimize the risk of
infestation and there shall be the resources available to
rapidly respond to any issues which occur to prevent
risk to products.
4.14.6
Fly-killing devices and/or pheromone traps shall be
correctly sited and operational. If there is a danger of
insects being expelled from a fly-killing extermination
device and contaminating the product, alternative
systems and equipment shall be used.

Front of House Flykillers

Back of House Flykillers
With a contemporary, discreet aesthetic and
commercial efficacy, the second generation
Insect-O-Cutor Halo ® is the most versatile glueboard
flykiller available for use across a range of commercial
applications. Halo ® is available as a slimline 15, 30,
45 or 2 x 30W model, providing a high quality insect
control solution for small or large areas. Offering a wide
range of installation options, the second generation
Insect-O-Cutor Halo ® can be vertically or horizontally
wall mounted, or desk mounted* using the specially
designed desk mounting feet. The compact 15W unit
can even be discreetly mounted above doors for areas

Killing Grid Units
Our killing grid units are best used in none sensitive area. Our most popular electric grid flykillers are shown below.
• Electric flykillers use UV light to attract flying insects to the unit.
• Then use a killing grid to kill the insects, before retaining them in a catch tray to allow hygienic disposal.
• Electric flykillers are ideal for use in commercial backroom, commercial front of house and industrial backroom areas as well as domestic
use to control a fly infestation.

Flyscreens are used to help stop insects getting into
your premises.
You must have your windows and doors fitted with a
flyscreen:
• If they open directly into food preparation areas
• If they are opened for ventilation during food preparation
Screens must be designed to be easily removable
for cleaning in order to prevent risk of infection or
contamination. This can occur as dirt built up on the
insect proof screen may create the possibility of food
contamination.
The UK’s Food Safety (General Food Hygiene)
Regulation (EC) 852/2004 specifically demands the
installation of flyscreens.
“Windows and other openings are to be constructed
to prevent the accumulation of dirt. Those which can
be opened to the outside environment are, where
necessary, to be fitted with insect-proof screens which
can be easily removed for cleaning.
Where open windows would result in contamination,
windows are to remain closed and fixed during
production.” Chapter 2 (1) (d)

Hinged screens
Right hand hinged, left hand hinged, top or bottom
hinged. They can also be fitted to vents.
Fixed screens
Can be installed onto airbricks, vents, roof
voids and on metal centre pivot windows.
Horizontal sliding screens
Includes one, two or three pane sliders.
This is one of our most popular flyscreen solutions.
Vertical sliders
Feature two sliding panes. Ideal for installation
onto sash windows.
Flyscreen doors
Can be manufactured with either a
left hand or right hand hinge to suit
the existing door opening. They are
manufactured to order, and therefore
will fit any size opening, so please ask
our team for more information!
We also produce dual action doors for
fire exits or as the perfect solution for
busy kitchens to allow users to enter
from either side.
Our mesh is available in different
specifications depending on your
requirements and the application,
including fibre glass mesh, stainless steel
mesh and 20/20 midge mesh.
Arma-door
A heavy duty aluminium construction
with robust flyscreen profiles. The
door is fabricated from aluminium
which is white polyester powder
coated for internal and external use.
The door comes complete with hinges
and sub frame and can be designed
to fit onto a standard door or an
emergency fire exit escape door. A
50mm brush is fixed to the bottom
of the door to stop crawling insects
and to deter rodents entering. This
door can be made lockable whilst still
offering quick release for fire escapes.
PVC curtains
Various options from single and double
pedestrian doors through to industrial
roller shutter sizes. We also have a special
range of perforated strip curtains along
with PVC chill strips for fridges and polar
grade curtains for freezers. Our PVC
curtains come in different thicknesses and
different ranges of overlaps depending
on the application. The PVC used is UV
stable, which means that it will remain
durable in sunlight.
