Turkey's Metal Casting Production
Exceeded 3 Million Tons in 2022
Turkish metal casting industry produces a wide range of parts for dozens of sectors,
from construction to automotive, from mining to aerospace, from parts as light as 1 gram
to parts as heavy as 300 tons.
The sector has recently achieved
record levels of production and exports,
taking advantage of opportunities
such as increased demand in
the European market and declining
production in competitor countries.
In 2021, total production increased
by 36.5% to 2.96 million tons and
exports rose by 10% to EUR 4.5 billion.
The capacity utilization rate of
the sector also increased to 73%. In
2022, total production in the sector
reached 3.1 million tons and the value
of production increased by 41% to
EUR 8.5 billion.
The export share of production
is around 70%. This shows the high
competitiveness and quality of Turkish
castings on the world market.
The total production of castings in
the European Union in 2022 was
14,509,000 tons including Turkey.
Turkey contributed 3,108,000 tons,
21.4% of the EU production.
