Managing Users in Windows 8/8.1
Starting with Windows 8, Microsoft shifted the focus of user accounts from
local accounts to Internet-wide Microsoft accounts. Windows 8 debuted the
Settings charm (see Figure 13-10). Select Change PC settings from the initial
charm screen to open PC settings (see Figure 13-11) and get access to the
Accounts option. Note that the User Accounts applet in Control Panel enables
you to make changes to local user accounts, and gives you access to the
Settings charm when you opt to add a new account.
