Mendip Media Productions and Woodbridge Visual
Media are visual communications specialists working
in the nuclear sector and on complex infrastructure
projects across Europe.
With a track record in connecting and engaging
disparate parts of the workforce in nuclear new

training, internal and external communications
using industry experience to create targeted video,
animation and photography.
Our expert in-house teams of producers, journalists
and videographers integrate their services into
existing client departments to offer as much or as
little content creation and media distribution as
required.
Mendip Media's insight and understanding of communications
requirements in complex infrastructure projects puts them in a league of

The ubiquity of video content across
multiple devices continues to grow.
Online users now expect to be
informed by video or podcast about
pretty much everything, which makes
digital platforms essential channels to
engage with global corporate supply
chains.
In tandem with advising, planning
and implementing strategies to reach
a diverse workforce, we have a long
track record in supplying video, aerial
filming, 360 photography, animation,
stills photography, studio hire and
audio recording to the nuclear
industry at Hinkley Point C Nuclear
New Build and the UK government’s
decommissioning organisation,
Nuclear Waste Services.
Our visual content extends to
the creation of multiple videos
or animations across carefully
curated timelines, as well as to the
production of single signature films
and documentaries for presentations
and expos.
The content we create together
with our clients, supports the many
different functions required to
complete infrastructure milestones.
The value that the
Mendip Media team
brings to company video
projects, including training,
onboarding, project progress
and business branding
propositions … to name a
few… is an investment that
will bring any business
a long term benefit.

STRATEGY AND CONTENT
MANAGEMENT
When influencing workforce behaviour is one of the long
term strategic goals of a complex infrastructure project,
Mendip Media assists as a core communications partner
over a sustained period.
We support the creation of strategic project content to
deliver a strong and knowledgeable workplace culture
that has a clear vision of its purpose and good practice in
its approach.
This includes:
Audience targeting
Identification
Segmentation
Insight
Content design
Contextualisation for social media or app platforms
Identification of content to work in specific campaigns
Reversioning of material
Distribution methodology
Which platforms
What reach
Maximising cost efficiency
Oversight of digital deployment schedules
Content supplier provision
Systematic vetting
Auditing of specialist creative producers
Content approval
Establishing protocols
All party sign-off
Liaison with HSE and Security teams
Additionally, Mendip Media provides content
management services to curate, index, tag and archive
visual content for approved users across projects. This
enables the efficient access and deployment of current
and historic videos, animations and photographs.
VISUAL CONTENT
DISTRIBUTION
Working closely with stakeholders in infrastructure
projects, Mendip Media has experience of acting as
executive producer with responsibility for overseeing
the placement and distribution of visual content.
We ensure that contracted digital agencies are
monitored for the scheduled distribution of videos,
animations and photographs.
This relieves clients of day-to-day content micromanagement,
with monthly reports explaining the
analytics, providing appraisals of digital performance
and recommending new approaches to content
distribution based on data.

RECRUITMENT CASE STUDY
HINKLEY POINT C SITE OPERATIONS
Mendip Media has been involved since the beginning of construction
in producing content for internal and external communications at
Hinkley Point C, the UK’s first nuclear new build in a generation.
Staffing and retention is a challenge for Site Operations. With
thousands of workers on a 430 acre construction site operating 24/7,
the requirement for facilities to feed, clean and secure the location is a
complicated undertaking.
Problem
As the project scaled up, Hinkley Point C facilities contractors found
that traditional recruitment methods were producing variable results.
With more staff needed across 5 types of roles, it was decided to adopt
a digital marketing approach and create video case studies to show
prospective employees the benefits of working on site.
Commissioned by EDF, Mendip Media collaborated with teams in the
supply chain to work both as content creators and executive producers
in a 6-month recruitment campaign.
Solution
Mendip Media researched, scheduled, filmed and delivered 5 detailed
video case studies to show the benefits of employment at Hinkley
Point C working as bus drivers, cleaners, cooks and security personnel.
In a quick four week turnaround, 2-minute films with 20’ cutdowns for
social media were produced.
Mendip Media then monitored content
distribution in supplier social media channels
with oversight of 5 digital marketing teams,
including monthly progress reports to the client.
Result
The result was an uptick in applications for
all recruitment categories, with strong viewing
metrics on Facebook and LinkedIn. This
represented a significant cost saving on usual
routes to recruitment such as fairs
and agents.

I find Mendip Media very easy to work with, mainly because they are so experienced. They are reliable, professional
and full of ideas in pre-planning, when on a shoot and in video editing and post-production. They are well organised
and flexible, which makes them a great fit for logistics projects that can often experience schedule changes at short
notice. They integrate well with the wider project teams when filming. The results are engaging narrative videos that
capture the essence of complex logistics projects.

VIDEO AND
ANIMATION
PRODUCTION
Mendip Media produces engaging
content with nuclear insight.
We have 20-years’ experience of
visual production for corporate
communications using the latest
commercial techniques including
timelapse, slo-mo, aerials and graphic
overlays.
Our wrap-around service, which
provides health and safety trained
operatives, audited and badged in-house
staff, preparatory documentation, hightech
light-weight equipment, secure offline
media servers and 24/7 contactable
producers, sets us apart.
Our video case studies to inspire future
apprentices, our instructional training
videos and good news workplace
stories, mean we liaise closely with
clients to source, speak to, schedule and
film individuals and events in sensitive
locations or in our own professional film
studio.
And when imagination is required to
conjure up visuals at the start of an
infrastructure project, our animators
step in to create clear and engaging
films.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Specialising in portrait and
location event photography,
our roster of commercial
photographers are light touch,
flexible and have many years
of experience capturing fast
moving events in the construction
industry – from VIP visits to
milestone achievements to
building openings.
Either working alone, in a press
pack or integrated with Mendip
Media’s videography crew, the
photographers importantly
maximise budgets efficiently to get
the best visual coverage.
They capture the moments that
matter; interaction between people
at work or the grand gesture.
And using the full gamut of digital
technology, they can edit, grade
and upload on site to respond
quickly to media deadlines.
Experience of the complexity involved in
the nuclear sector delivering at the
highest level, means we tell its story
with simple narrative flair and highproduction
techniques.
This approach, with its innate
journalistic rigour has come to define
our output.

Almost half (44.68%) of people in the UK
have attended an online training course
for work; that’s almost as many as have
attended in person training (50.92%).
45% of UK over-16s have used YouTube or
another video platform to learn how to

In a survey of over 2000 companies in the
UK, 74% of trainers said they use video
learning as part of training delivery. 63%
of training teams surveyed use self-paced
virtual training with video instruction.
