Port Dover
TRIVIA
The oldest bell in Port Dover is in St.
Paul’s Church spire and first heard on
July 13, 1856. The larger town hall
bell in the clock tower at Lighthouse
Theatre was made in Troy, NY,
shipped to Buffalo and then brought
here by schooner. Originally in
Powell Park and rung for the first
time April 3, 1857 it was moved to
the Town Hall building in the early
1900s. Both bells still ring to this day.
