1889 – Telephone service came to
Port Dover with line from Simcoe.
1901 – First poured concrete sidewalks
costing 12½ cents sq. ft.
replaced wood.
Early 1920s – Port Dover Volunteer
Fire Department organized. Its first
fire chief was Lidney McQueen.
