Es un placer poder compartir con ustedes, esta guía de
los actos del octavo ILBS que celebramos en la ciudad
de Sevilla, formando ya parte de la historia del
"International Leather and Boots Spain".
Ocho ediciones en la que vamos evolucionando y
adaptando nuestro evento a aquellas necesidades que
un encuentro como este implica. Nuevos espacios, como
el Lounge Bar San Francisco, el nuevo espacio The Boyz
y el Palacio Marqueses de la Algaba, experimentando y
reinventando con el objetivo de prepararnos para poder
albergar también la elección europea y la asamblea
general de la ECMC.
Para terminar, desear que todas y todos los asistentes
tengais una experiencia única y disfruteis estos días de
amigos, familia y sin duda de esta gran ciudad que es
Sevilla.
It is a pleasure to be able to share with you this guide
to the events of the eighth ILBS that we held in the
city of Seville, now forming part of the history of
"International Leather and Boots Spain".
Eight editions in which we are evolving and adapting
our event to those needs that a meeting like this
implies. New spaces, such as the Lounge Bar San
Francisco, the new The Boyz space and the Marqueses
de la Algaba Palace, experimenting and reinventing
with the aim of preparing to also host the European
election and the ECMC general assembly.
Finally, I wish that all attendees have a unique
experience and enjoy these days with friends, family
and without a doubt this great city that is Seville.

BIENVENIDOS A SEVILLA
Sevilla es famosa por muchos de sus tópicos pero sin embargo es desconocida en
muchos de sus aspectos. Su tres milenos de historia comienzan como una colonia
fenicia sobre un antiguo asentamiento local. Esta primitiva Sevilla, llamada Spal,
fue puerto y santuario, vocaciones ambas que permanecerán de diversa forma a lo
largo de la historia.
La romanización llevó a consolidar la ciudad como un puerto estratégico al
servicio de las grandes urbes vecinas: Itálica y Carmona. Híspalis fue el punto de
partida del comercio desde el interior de la Bética romana hacia el resto de
confines del mundo mediterráneo. De este periodo quedan como testigos
interesantes restos arqueológicos que denotan la importancia de la ciudad.
La alta Edad Media traerá una época de cambios que harán de la Ispali visigoda
centro religioso de la zona. Posteriormente la llegada de la cultura islámica llevará
a Isbilia a convertirse poco a poco en una de las ciudades más importantes de su
entorno. Será ya en el S.XI cuando, tras la caída del Califato de Córdoba la ciudad
adquiera estatus de capitalidad y como tal la dinastía Abadí comenzará a dotarla
de nuevas infraestructuras comenzando por la construcción del primitivo Alcázar.
Tras las invasiones primero de Almorávides y posteriormente de Almohades,
comienza un periodo en que la posición estratégica de la ciudad la hace acentuar
su carácter de capital territorial. Es ahora cuando la ciudad adquirirá las
dimensiones que durante siglos la definirán, debido a la construcción de sus
murallas, y se erigirán algunos de los edificios más simbólicos de la misma como
el alminar de la mezquita mayor, actual Giralda, y la Torre del Oro.
Tras la conquista Castellana Sevilla se convierte en una de las principales
ciudades del reino de Castilla y esto favorecerá su crecimiento y la incorporación
de nuevas infraestructuras como las Reales Atarazanas, el edificio industrial
medieval más grande de Europa, o la construcción de la Catedral, edificio gótico
de mayor superficie en el mundo.
El descubrimiento de América hizo de Sevilla el centro del comercio mundial
convirtiéndola en una ciudad cosmopolita, donde personas de todas las
nacionalidades concurrían para participar de la aventura de los descubrimientos.
Fue Sevilla principio y final de la primera vuelta al mundo y nexo de unión entre
Europa, América y otros territorios ultramarinos.

En el S.XVII comienza una etapa de decadencia por factores políticos,
económicos y naturales, epidemias, hambrunas, etc. La ciudad perderá parte de
su pujanza y de su población, centrándose y encerrándose en innumerables
conventos y monasterios que ocuparán gran parte de la ciudad en esos años.
Este proceso culminará con el traslado, a principios del S.XVIII de la Casa de
Contratación a Cádiz y por tanto del comercio con América.
Será ya en el S. XVIII cuando la ciudad se reinvente y se convierta en un centro
industrial de la España de la Ilustración. Las fábricas de Tabacos, Artillería, las
sederías, las fábricas de tintes y vidrios harán de Sevilla una urbe industrial
incluso antes de la denominada Revolución Industrial.
El convulso S.XIX comienza con la invasión francesa que significará una merma
importante en el patrimonio de la ciudad, debido sobre todo al derribo de
edificio y el expolio de parte del patrimonio artístico. Los cambios urbanos
seguirán a lo largo de todo el siglo con las desamortizaciones y el derribo de
algunos conventos e iglesias para abrir nuevas plazas y calles en la ciudad.
Ya en el S.XX serán varias las etapas por las que atravesará la ciudad y que la
harán adquirir su fisonomía actual. En primer lugar la Exposición Iberoamericana
de 1929 transformará el sur de la ciudad e incorporará nuevos barrios como El
Porvenir o Ciudad Jardín. Este evento dejará también nuevos símbolos urbanos
como la Plaza de España. Tras la Guerra Civil la ciudad crecerá debido a la
emigración del campo a la ciudad y aparecerán innumerables nuevos barrios de
forma inconexa y caótica. Será ya al final del S.XX cuando con motivo de la
Exposición Universal de 1992 la ciudad se transforme totalmente y se prepare
para el nuevo siglo. Con motivo de este evento se construyeron nuevas
infraestructuras como puentes, autovías, el aeropuerto o la nueva estación
central de trenes de Santa Justa, además del recinto de la propia muestra
universal, que es hoy en día uno de los parques tecnológicos más importantes de
España.
Las primeras décadas de este S.XXI incorporaron nuevas infraestructuras como
la primera línea de metro o el tranvía, además de nuevos referentes
arquitectónicos que se suman al patrimonio de Sevilla, siendo el más destacado
el complejo Metropol Parasol conocido como Las Setas. También estas últimas
décadas han significado una recuperación de muchos elementos patrimoniales y
entornos urbanos, intentando mantener el equilibrio entre la historia, la tradición
y la modernidad.

WELCOME TO SEVILLE
Seville is famous for many of its topics but nevertheless it is unknown in many
of its aspects. It's three thousand years of history begin as a Phoenician colony
on top of an ancient local settlement. This primitive Seville, called Spal, was a
port and a sanctuary, both vocations that will remain in different forms
throughout history.
Romanisation led to the consolidation of the city as a strategic port at the
service of the large neighbouring cities: Itálica and Carmona. Híspalis was the
starting point for trade from the interior of Roman Baetica to the rest of the
Mediterranean world. From this period interesting archaeological remains
remain as witnesses that denote the importance of the city.
The later Middle Ages will bring about a time of changes that will make the
Visigoth Ispali the religious centre of the area. Later, the arrival of the Islamic
culture will lead Isbilia to gradually become one of the most important cities in
its surroundings. It was already in the 11th century when, after the fall of the
Caliphate of Cordoba, the city acquired the status of capital and as such the
Abadí dynasty began to provide it with new infrastructures, beginning with the
construction of the primitive Alcázar. After the invasions first of Almoravides
and later of Almohades, a period begins in which the strategic position of the
city makes it accentuate its character of territorial capital. It is now when the
city will acquire the dimensions that will define it for centuries, due to the
construction of its walls, and some of its most symbolic buildings will be
erected, such as the minaret of the main mosque, current Giralda, and the
Torre del Oro .
After the Castilian conquest, Seville became one of the main cities of the
kingdom of Castile and this favoured its growth and the incorporation of new
infrastructures such as the Reales Atarazanas, the largest medieval industrial
building in Europe, or the construction of the Cathedral, a building largest
Gothic area in the world.
The discovery of America made Seville the center of world trade, turning it into
a cosmopolitan city, where people of all nationalities came together to
participate in the adventure of discoveries. Seville was the beginning and end
of the first trip around the world and the link between Europe, America and
other overseas territories.

In the 17th century, a period of decline began due to political, economic and natural
factors, epidemics, famines, etc.The city will lose part of its strength and its
population, closing itself in innumerable convents and monasteries that will occupy a
large part of the city in those years. This process will culminate with the transfer, at
the beginning of the 18th century, of the Casa de Contratación to Cádiz and therefore
of trade with America.
It will be in the 18th century when the city reinvents itself and becomes an industrial
center of the Spain of the Enlightenment. The tobacco and artillery factories, the silk
factories, the dye and glass factories will make Seville an industrial city even before
the so-called Industrial Revolution.
The convulsive 19th century began with the French invasion, which meant a
significant decrease in the city's heritage, mainly due to the demolition of the
building and the plundering of part of the artistic heritage. The urban changes will
continue throughout the century with the confiscations and the demolition of some
convents and churches to open new squares and streets in the city.
Already in the 20th century there will be several stages through which the city will
go through and that will make it acquire its current appearance. In the first place,
the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 will transform the south of the city and
incorporate new neighbourhoods such as El Porvenir or Ciudad Jardín. This event will
also leave new urban symbols such as the Plaza de España. After the Civil War the
city will grow due to emigration from the countryside to the city and innumerable
new neighbourhoods will appear in a disjointed and chaotic way. It will be already at
the end of the 20th century when, on the occasion of the 1992 Universal Exhibition,
the city is completely transformed and prepares for the new century. On the occasion
of this event, new infrastructures were built such as bridges, highways, the airport
or the new Santa Justa central train station, in addition to the site of the universal
exhibition itself, which is today one of the most important technology parks in Spain.
The first decades of this 21st century incorporated new infrastructures such as the
first metro line or the tram, as well as new architectural references that add to the
heritage of Seville, the most outstanding being the Metropoli Parasol complex known
as Las Setas. These last decades have also meant a recovery of many heritage
elements and urban environments, trying to maintain the balance between history,
tradition and modernity.

Cívico Virgen de los Reyes, muy cerca
del Parlamento de Andalucía, donde
asistentes y jurado disfrutarán de la
actuación de Satín Greco, así como de
nuestros candidatos a Mister.

we will have one of our most special
days, as it will be the one in which we
celebrate our Mister ILBS2023 election
gala. For this we will go to the theatre
located in the Virgen de los Reyes Civic
Centre, very close to the Parliament of
Andalusia, where attendees and jury
will enjoy the performance of Satín
Greco, as well as our candidates for
Mister.

Posteriormente nos desplazaremos hasta la Plaza de España, en el Parque María
Luisa, para hacernos las tradicionales fotos y continuar con un Paseo en coche de
caballos y continuar nuestro recorrido hasta el local Lounge Bar San Francisco.
Saturday the 13th is our big day, with acts in the morning and afternoon. That is
why we will begin the day with the General Assembly of the ILBS, in one of the
most symbolic mansions in the city of Seville. “Marqueses de la Algaba Palace”.
Later we will meet at the Plaza de España, in the María Luisa Park, to take the
traditional photos and continue with a horse-drawn carriage ride and continue
our journey to the Lounge Bar San Francisco.

nuestros clubes hermanos. Para concluir os
hemos preparado tanto un desayuno como cena
en uno de los restaurantes italianos más
conocidos de la ciudad, así como dos fiestas,
una de despedida con sesión de fotos
incluida(*) en el Bunker y otra con una copa de
despedida en el PrideBar.
Sunday is our closing day, with our sights set on #8ILBS2024 and with the
desire to meet again with all the attendees, also at the rest of the events
that the ILBS has throughout the year 2024, as well as the European
appointments of our sister clubs. To conclude we have prepared both a
breakfast and dinner in one of the best-known Italian restaurants in the
city, as well as two parties, a farewell party with a photo session
included(*) in the Bunker and another with a farewell drink in the PrideBar.

Quiero daros la bienvenida a todos a Sevilla, donde miembros de la
comunidad leather y fetichista llegados de todo el mundo nos
reunimos para celebrar el #8ILBS2024.
Sevilla es una ciudad llena de historia, cultura vibrante y una cálida
hospitalidad que estoy seguro que hará de esta edición del #8ILBS

I want to welcome you all to Seville, where members of the leather
and fetish community from all over the world meet to celebrate
#8ILBS2024.
Seville is a city full of history, vibrant culture and warm hospitality
that I am sure will make this edition of #8ILBS an unforgettable
experience for all attendees.
Over the next few days, we will have the opportunity to enjoy
meetings, meals, walks, culture, parties and, of course, the
opportunity to meet leather and boot lovers from all over the
world. This is a moment to celebrate our diversity, give visibility
and continue advancing in the acceptance and normalization of our
group.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in the
organization of this event, as well as to the sponsors and
collaborators who have made it possible for this #8ILBS to become
a reality. Your dedication and support have been essential to carry
out this event successfully.
