Warriewood greenspace revamp
The build-out of
Warriewood’s new Lynne
Czinner Park – formerly
known as Fern Creek Reserve
– will provide locals with
a revamped green space to
offset the likely addition of
new housing developments
along Macpherson Street in
the next few years.
Both Flower Power and
Foleys Nursery have lodged
DAs with Northern Beaches
Council for a combined 81
dwellings.
Council’s expansion of
Fern Creek Reserve – made
possible by additional
property acquisitions along
the creek – is creating a
much-anticipated area
of open space for the
community of Warriewood.

the parkland to the north
of the creek – known as
‘Rocket Ship Park’ after its
playground – was renamed
in consultation with the
community to Lynne Czinner

environmental trail blazer.
Council’s vision for the
new space includes a shared
path and pedestrian bridge
connection across Fern
Creek; picnic areas with BBQ
facilities, shade and water
bottle filling stations; a
fitness station; a network of
shared paths; open, grassed
areas; native plantings and
landscaping; and additional
car parking on Dove Lane.
Council said the build
was being fully funded by
developer contributions and
was expected to be completed
in April, weather permitting.
Recently the pedestrian
bridge connecting the
northern and southern side
of the park was completed
but it will remain closed
while the other works are
undertaken.
Lynne Czinner was elected
to the first Pittwater Council
in 1992, serving consecutive
terms until 2008. Within that
period, Lynne spent four
consecutive terms as Deputy
Mayor from 1998 to 2002,
and in 2004 was elected as
Mayor.

inflatable obstacle course (300m
long) and other fun activities
are set up by Tuff Nutterz at
Winnererremy Bay Mona Vale

Donate blood. The Mobile Blood
Donor Centre is rolling into Mona
Vale and setting up at Surfview

Australia Day BBQ Breakfast from
7.30am-11.30am. Organised by
our local Zonta and Rotary clubs,
there will be amusement rides,
face paining and a thong throwing
competition, plus great coffee
vendors, gelato and live music.
