INTRODUCTION
Project Breif
The Science and Technology Center in Jubail is concerned with expanding the city's
scientific and intellectual level with a contemporary architectural design, studying functional
relationships, and linking them with modern design techniques to enhance the tourism,
scientific and economic value at the city and region level. The project is located in Jubail city,
near the Royal Commission and across from the Deffi Park.
General Objectives
• Providing a specialized interactive scientific environment at the highest level comparable
to similar centers around the world.
• Include all types of support services needed to present science and technology in one
project.
• Provide workshops that help spread knowledge in an effective way.
Architectural objectives
• Creating a space that efficiently supports the educational environment.
• Provide all types of facilities that may be needed for the science and technology center.
• Consider Designing a Sustainable building in terms of Environmental, Cultural &
Economical.
• Develop efficient organizational relationships and ease of movement between different
functions.
Function
The center provides an educational environment entertainingly and educationally that attracts
the audience and makes the educational process more interesting through educational halls
and galleries to display various sciences with the latest visual display technologies, scientific
models, simulation rooms with hologram technology, and virtual reality technology, educational
laboratories, and workshops.
CONCEPT
Concept development
The design idea is to create a psychologically comfortable space for the educational and
cultural environment in a modern style with a smoothed and dynamic form that reflects
the main function of the building, which is to facilitate the educational process and display
it in a simple and fun way.
The sketch explain the
interior feeling and the
idea of open atruim and
trible height.
1-The first idea was to distribute the
project into 3 main zones. Educational,
interactive and entertaining, making a
connection between them by wrapping
the shape around itself.
Negatives
The shape has become complicated
and it is difficult to design the internal
spaces in it, in addition to the location of
the visitors' entrance, the entrance to
the staff, and the way to separate them.
PARKING
SERVICES
DROP OFF
PATH
The sketch explain the out
door dynamic form that gives
a feeling of futuristic and
movment to the visitors
2-In this idea, the external shape was
redesigned and made less complex, more
streamlined and less sharp. Create the
idea of a grand interior atrium and
separate entrances for visitors, staff and
service.
Negatives
The external shape needed to be expanded, in
addition to the internal space that needed to be
re-designed. Reconsider the location of the car
park because of its large area, and it distorts
the site.
3-The last idea was to place all the
car parks in the basement in addition
to the loading area, so that the shape
located on the ground floor would be
more in line with the surroundings
and green areas.
Redesigning the facade and making it
more smoothed and lighter.
Increase the length of the building to
be more proportional.

Gray water treatment system:
Parametric double skin:
With proper treatment greywater can be put to good use. These uses include water
for laundry and toilet flushing, and also irrigation of plants.
Two major benefits of greywater use are:
a-Reducing the need for fresh water. Saving on fresh water use can significantly
reduce household water bills, but also has a broader community benefit in reducing
demands on public water supply.

which contributes to reducing the amount of electricity consumed in the building for

HILL HOUSING COMPLEX
LOCATION: DHAHRAN CITY
YEAR: 2020
AREA:30000 M 2
CONCEPT
The Concept of the site and the design of the villa was based on
three main principles
Sustainability: choosing the street and units land’s location was meant to minimize
the cut and fill, considering the orientation of the street and lands (taking the long
side on the northwest), to control the heat island. At the unit level, it was considered
to provide natural ventilation and light.
Safety and security: By eliminating the front fence of the villas, the neighborhood
connections and relationships will be improved, which also have a significant
influence on the safety in the neighborhood by keeping eyes on the street.
Quality of space: Merging the internal spaces with the outdoor brings life back to
the abandoned gardens and allows the flow of the natural ventilation with the
daylight, enhanced with uninterrupted vision in the space.
USING THE L SHAPE TO:
1
-REDUCE BUILDING LOT.
-INCREASE THE OUTDOOR SPACE.
-INCREASE THE SHADING FOR THE
OUTDOOR SPACE.
-VIEW FOR THE OUTSIDE.
-INCREASE THE PRIVACY.
2
3
SUSTAINABILITY ASPECTS
cross ventilation
Cross ventilation (also called wind effect ventilation) is a
natural method of cooling. The system relies on wind to
force cool exterior air into the building through an inlet (like
a wall louver, a gable, or an open window) while the outlet
forces warm interior air outside (through a roof vent or
higher window opening).
