In 2022, the Doctors Club was opened in Loiben in the Wachau. Conceived<br />
as a site of exchange between science, fine arts and philosophy,<br />
it offers a worthy venue for gatherings of the university community,<br />
especially for symposia, congresses and other events. DPU President<br />
Prof. h.c. Marga B. Wagner-Pischel has already welcomed renowned<br />
scientists, including Prof. Dr. Katalin Karikó, who won the 2023 Nobel<br />
Prize for Medicine in recognition of her basic research that enabled the<br />
development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.<br />

The DPU Dental Clinic in Krems has around<br />
50 modern dental chairs, a surgical suite and<br />
a futuristic digital practice. It is the basis of our<br />
dentistry students’ clinical training: they treat<br />
patients under professional supervision and<br />
take patients’ social conditions into account,<br />
thereby making an important contribution to<br />
primary healthcare provision in Austria.<br />
