LEADERS IN DENTAL
AND HUMAN MEDICINE
Stefanie Arco-Zinneberg, MA is Director of Marketing and Management and, together with her
family, co-owner of Danube Private University (DPU).
DPU was the first private university in Austria to obtain accreditation for a faculty of medicine and
dentistry. Today, the university can look back on considerable successes in science, teaching and
research, and has established itself on the international stage. It lies in the heart of the Wachau, a
stretch of the Danube Valley that has been designated an UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. It is
among the most picturesque regions in Austria and is situated just 70 km from Vienna.
What’s special about DPU?
The Danube Private University has
a collegiate character and follows
a humanistic approach to education.
We help medicine and dentistry
students to answer their inner
calling to a healthcare profession,
while keeping step with technical
advances.
Next year will mark the 15th anniversary
of DPU. What is the vision
for the university?
Innovation is our driving force. The
university’s leadership and its team
of renowned academics view students
as partners in teaching and
research. They developed study
concepts with a strong practical
focus, requiring students to engage
in professional activities at
an early stage. We are broadening
our programmes of study, which
conform with EU guidelines, to
include innovations such as digitalisation,
artificial intelligence and
oral medicine, and have procured
state-of-the-art equipment to implement
this.
Around 2,500 students from 66
countries are currently enrolled at
DPU. The students on our postgraduate
MSc (CE) programmes
benefit from our underlying principle:
No distance too far!
DPU is continuously developing
its partnerships with universities
around the world. These are underpinned
by agreements with
science and education authorities
in various countries with the aim
of generating win-win solutions in
science, teaching and research.
